How is Up Box/Up Box+ compared with Ultimaker's printers?

Post by uplus2user » Thu Jan 12, 2017 2:46 am

I cannot decide if I should buy the Up Box+ as there is a lack of review. I found that Ultimaker's printers are often rated highly. Anybody used both printers? Any experience appreciated.

hmm someone have removed my comment.

I only print ABS and PETG.
I have some lowcost printer with S3D for backup, and one UP+ and one Zortrax M200. UP+ have served me nice for about 4 years, it is ok but only for smaller things. At for now i prefer my Zortrax M200.

So you don't have an Up Box or an Ultimaker?

I recently got an Up Box+ and while I don't have an Ultimaker, I've heard great things about it. A couple of things that set the Up Box apart from the Ultimaker's printers are:

1) Heated Chamber (even if it's only passively heated)
2) Filter!
3) Easy and quick to remove perf boards
4) Lights (does the ultimaker have those?)
5) Price

Of course the ultimaker is much more open than Tiertime's proprietary software.
