Console/MDI Input on Up! Mini

Post by koreandi » Thu Sep 15, 2016 6:08 am

Hi there,

I am using an UP! Mini with simplify3d and the G-Code Transcoder (thanks to mr_x).
It works all fine and I am very Happy with that solution.
Is there any way that I can use my UP! Mini via MDI Input?
MDI (Manual Data Input) means that I can Input a single G-Code Line and directly transfer it to the machine.

Beneith that:
Did anyone created a Gcode for changing Filament? One for ejecting and one for extracting the filament? I don´t want to switch back to the UP! Software to do that. If there is no such file, I think I will create it within the next days. And of course I´m gonna share it here.

greetings from Germany

I am using Simplify3D as well and there were still some glitches in the transcoder. Please see update here https://github.com/UP3D-gcode/UP3D/releases

As for the G-Codes for Extrude and Withdraw, its pretty easy:

withdraw.gcode
; withdraw script for UP
;
; this file heats op the nozzle to 220°C
; and extrudes 100 mm with a speed of
;
;G28 ; home all axes
G1 X60 Y60 Z120 F5000 ; go to center position and lift nozzle
M300 P100 ; beep short
M109 S220 ; wait for temperature to be reached
G21 ; set units to millimeters
G90 ; use absolute coordinates
M82 ; use absolute distances for extrusion
G92 E0 ; zero extruder
M300 P500 ; Beep long
G1 E-85 F100 ; withdraw 85 mm
M300 P200 ; Beep 3 times as end
G4 P100
M300 P200
G4 P100
M300 P200
M104 S0 ; turn off hotend
extrude.gcode
; extrude script for UP
;
; this file heats op the nozzle to 220°C
; and extrudes
;
;M104 S100 ; set temperature
G28 ; home all axes
G1 X60 Y60 Z120 F1800 ; lift nozzle
M300 P100
M109 S220 ; wait for temperature to be reached
G21 ; set units to millimeters
G90 ; use absolute coordinates
M82 ; use absolute distances for extrusion
G92 E0
M300 P200 ; Beep
G1 E85 F100 ; withdraw 85 mm
M300 P200 ; Beep 3 times as end
G4 P200
M300 P1
G4 P200
M300 P1
M104 S0 ; turn off hotend

Hi Kai,

my code looks quite similar. I added a beep-countdown on the extrusion.
Also I increased the speed of extruder in 3 steps on withdraw and extrusion.
If any one is interested in the code I can upload it.
