Re: Look what I found

Yes woofy I found more info about pla AND abs. Could not find it on their website :?
If 2.85 is also know as 3mm why don't they just say that? ( retorical )

So would it be able to accept 1.75mm?

Look what I found

Hello All, When I first started looking at 3d printers I also came across the Ultimaker. They named the first type they made the Ultimaker Original. But now they have the Ultimaker 2, check this out ( if you haven't already ) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5JJSI9Ou4EY The maker of this video shows a...

Re: what convinced you to buy an Up!

What convinced me was the fact that I had a BFB rapman which needed a lot of tinkering and that, IMC the UP mini, seemed to do well without, apart from the bed not being level. Youtube + price setting also got me conviced. One of my first prints was the "Impossible print". When that came out of the ...

Re: Printing Laywoo on an UP?

FYI " When you print Laywoo 3D on the mini at ABS setting, it looks more like plastic rather than wood. But when you print it with the PLA setting it looks like MDF. Sort of woody effect without the typical wood structure, just one color. I guess it will work on the your UP plus 2. When you use the ...

Re: moisture or extruder slippage?

That's why I fired it as my first suggestion - the oven is the quick and easy way. With your heatpad it might be possible that you are not supplying sufficient current to it which is why you aren't getting the heating/max temp you expect. I found that leaving the heat pad loose in the cabinet is no...

Re: moisture or extruder slippage?

The outdoor temp. has dropped, here in The Netherlands since the beginning of this topic. The heat pad has been running for 2 days and it seems that the max output temp of the pad is around 23 celsius. Aldo the heat pad should be able to get to 35 ± 5 Degree Celsius according to the specifications. ...

@ PP3DP wish/request list

@ PP3DP As requested and wished for by many UPistiados, way back in the beginning of PP3DP, please keep track of all our wishes/requests and actually DO something with it! It's, as I mentioned before, becomming more and more difficult for UP user and PP3DP as a company to keep track of everything. S...

Re: Use PLA filament

Hi roach,

When you switch from ABS to PLA let it extrude @ ABS setting and then put the setting to PLA/gram in the software.
Most of the ABS left behind in the extruder will get purged out this way. ;)

Re: moisture or extruder slippage?

@julia Thanks for the tip. But all the lab ovens i have seen are (of course) inclosed. I ordered the 35 ± 5 Degree Celsius heat pad and will place it at the lowest point of the cabinet. The are 2 shelfs in it but I'm thinking of replacing them with grated plates. The door is not that air tight and w...

"dry" filament

Hi all, In another topic I mentioned the idea of putting something like this http://www.ebay.com/itm/vivarium-heat-mat-Heater-Warmer-Pad-For-Pet-Reptile-Amphibians-15x28cm-EU-Plug-/360716632488 into the cabinet where I store my filament. I ran into a moisture problem and this, I think, will help me ...

Re: moisture or extruder slippage?

I'm going to order this or similar and place it in the cabinet where I keep all my filament. I'm pretty sure this will help to keep the moisture out. http://www.ebay.com/itm/vivarium-heat-mat-Heater-Warmer-Pad-For-Pet-Reptile-Amphibians-15x28cm-EU-Plug-/360716632488 They also have a USA connector ty...
