Re: Up Plus Review in Make's Ultimate Guide to 3D Printing

Ha I knew it! You get this in the hands of those that are trying the other repraps out there (as I did, have, and was!) and you wonder where this printer has been all your 3d printing life :). Like I said before, I wish I would have started with an Up instead of ending Up with an Up, so much wasted...

Re: Wish List

Please, put the STOP button far from the rest of buttons. Yesterday I lost a 18 hours print, after 10 hours printing. Yes it was my fault, but I would like that button wasn't next to PLACE button...

Re: PLA support material and ABS prinout

I've read something about using PLA as support, but I've also read that there's a some chemistry there and is not esay:

Although as JuliaDee says, it seems people goes for PVA.

Re: Positioning 3d files for printing

Reducing the difficulty of removing supports is usually the last priority when it comes to these things When I print something I always think in: 1. Do I need strengh? 2. Any possibility of warping? 3. Any special difficult side to print? 4. Could I remove support easily? Specially with small parts...

Re: Positioning 3d files for printing

Have someboy printed parts over parts like in photo? I think in so little parts would be a headache when you remove support. Maybe with strong parts there's no problem.

Re: wall smoothness question

I've noticed huge improvements by removing the filament spool from the body of the printer and mounting it elsewhere.
ummm, interesting :geek: this means that adding some kind of bearing in the spool should get better prints. Will have to study it :ugeek: .

Re: Can anyone print me a model?

Hi Oscar. I think that figure in youtube is quite hard to print for FDM printers, wings seem too much fine and maybe too much fine details.
If you want, send me the STL and I will see if it could be posible to print ir with an UP.

JuliaDee, have you know something about a printing contest in that event? I know it was won by ultimaker, but UP people accepted the challenge while MB people rejected it.

Re: UP! Software and ROM v1.17 Final

Printing at 0.15mm you need the official v10 wind barrier with the door open, download from our support page http://www.3DPrintingSystems.com/support I did so except for raft, thank you very much. Edit: In my second print, again the same, support is harder it self, so It's harder to put off it. I t...

Re: UP! Software and ROM v1.17 Final

First change I notice: changed long beeps by short beeps, so less noise.
I have to say that it's more difficult to put off the support from printed part.
I used "official" white ABS filament.
My first print wasn't the best to check new 0.15 layer so I'm doing another one.

Amazing printer, but I was surprised by these words: "Long shelf life when not exposed to light" (http://formlabs.com/pages/material)
What does this mean? you shouldn't expose prats under sun?
