Re: UP 2.17 Software

Yes!! Nice.. I just saw it and came here to read your post. Thanks for the info, you're always on point. So it is good? I just printed something 0.1 mm last week and it was acceptable, raft came off well. Thin walls, is that working well? So many questions, I'll test the software ASAP. Thanks to eve...

Re: Problem with 0.1mm prints

Hi Jason, but that would also be the case for the support higher up. It would be more logical to use both the same settings as it means the support directly under the model. And if you select 3 layers the problem ypu described is gone or at least the same as now. The option to choose is key and good...

Re: Problem with 0.1mm prints

Thanks Jason for test printing. I can't see it clearly (the bottom support in the raft) but I think we have a misunderstanding: the dense setting used to make a thicker raft under the model. I can see 6 layers in the support (higher up in the model) but I think the bottom one is only 3, see picture....

Re: UP BOX Auto Nozzle Height Detect

I understand, but I think building a RepRap is much more work and learning curve than learning to operate Up printers. I'll be honest: I think I couldn't build one nor do I have the intention to get near one. I notice it is always about money with these machines, how can you get the cheapest printer...

Re: UP BOX Auto Nozzle Height Detect

Come on man that's not what the poster asked. If you don't like the Up go to a RepRap forum. There are lots of printers for everybodies taste, at least try to help this person with the Up printer on the forum that is for Ups. On topic: Maybe there is a little plastic under the metal thing that makes...

Re: Problem with 0.1mm prints

I know the thickness of the raft is the same, but I have not seen more than 3 layers dense support printed since version 1.15.. On multiple Up Plus's, the Up Box and Mini. What configuration did you use? I only ever used Windows Up software, maybe you used Mac? If so, could you please check the Wind...

Re: Problem with 0.1mm prints

Hi Jason, No this happens with all Up machines and on all layer heights. It has been this way since software version 1.16 (several years). Software version 1.15 was the last version where the dense setting worked for 4, 5 and 6 layers. But that also had a thicker raft: you could choose a minimum of ...

Re: Problem with 0.1mm prints

I added a picture to further clearify the support settings I mean that don't work. It would really be beneficial if these settings are repaired by TierTime/PP3DP.. As stated before, support dense only works up to 3 layers: 4, 5 and 6 also prints only 3 layers on the raft. Six layers would really hel...

Re: Calibration information not saved

First reset the values by clicking reset. Check the text in the top of the calibration window after you reset, XY and XZ degrees should be 0. Then enter your measured values in the boxes, then click OK and OK. If you revisit the same window, the values in the boxes will be the same because those are...

Re: Gaps between splitted parts

@ Roller: When I glue something and it has the glossy layers you can use a matte clear coat. It also fills a bit and the print will look way better. But glossy (just a mist) will also make the part uniform..

Up Box ROM file

I wanted to reflash my Up Box, in software version 2.15 there are no more ROM files. Does anybody have one for the Up Box, can staff maybe help us here? Are the ROMS in the next software version?

Re: Problem with 0.1mm prints

In relation to the 0.1 mm layer adhesion problems is posted this also in the other Up Box section. I hope Jason Is reading along and could also help us with the layer setting for raft support: please enable 2 to 6 layers again because now only 2 or 3 work. Re: Problems With New UpBox

Sometimes you also have to RTFM ;)

Page 13 and 30 have some info. You can use the 3 manual adjustment screws to level the platform the best you can and then automatic calibration should work better.

Re: Burn marks on print

That's always a tough one.. It's because some parts of the model are still hot and tend to curl up a bit. The nozzle always has some dark smudges on it, always clean it before printing. But still, small models or small features on models can't cool fast enough sometimes. So open the fan door for sma...

Re: UP BOX raft separation from model problems

I am very happy with my Up Box, I have already produced great results with it. Raft removal is often good but it can certainly be better. It varies with layer thickness and even color of ABS (original TierTime). I sometimes have one corner that will not remove and take a part of my model.. :!: It he...

Re: UP BOX raft separation from model problems

No matter what combination of settings we use, up to 36 attempts, we get bonded dense layers on the base of the part. These can not be removed without damage to the part and consume a great deal of time. We have tried various models, 11 now, without success. Has anyone got any ideas. the bed is lev...

Re: Version 3 hotend

It looks to be all steel, the hotend and nozzle. The hotend version 3 has the barrel with thread connected to the block so it looks as one piece. The nozzle has the thread on the inside and screws on the barrel under the block.

Re: UP BOX raft separation from model problems

I think it is because of your software version. Make sure to only use version 2.15 for the Up Box, check the support/downloads page on pp3dp.com. And before printing go to 3D Print/Platform calibrate, press reset and save values. After that click on Auto level and follow the instructions, that worke...

Re: Version 3 hotend

Today I received a new hotend, so I'm happily printing again. The new hotend was still completely clean of course so I tried to unscrew the nozzle, it was very easy. It was on just tight enough so I know for the future this nozzle isn't welded on the tube. I don't hope this is going to be a common p...
