Re: Google Android Tablet Stand

Someone I know uses another technique to get a shiny surface on ABS models. He uses a closed container like a bucket or large pot filled with acetone. You need a platform with holes which can be lowered in the container. Put your model on the platform and lower it in the acetone for 10 to 30 seconds...

Re: Google Android Tablet Stand

I see the new website is online, very nice! There is a section with photo's and it contains a photo of an android puppet. It was painted be me the same way as this android stand and I gave it to Joseph Guo from PP3DP/TierTime when he was in Holland some time ago. Very nice to see the model again

Re: Google Android Tablet Stand

Well the most work of course is the sanding. You really have to take the time for each layer. When printed I usually fill any small holes (if any) with ''molten'' ABS acetone mix. Let it dry, then sand down the model just lightly. Then the best primer is ''filler'' because the layers are relatively ...

Re: Google Android Tablet Stand

Of course, I'm already thinking about my next object. I'm not sure what to print yet. I would like it to be practical and looking nice. But I will be taking pictures of the whole process next time. I did just finish a whole head of somebody that I scanned with our Artec MHT scanner. I printed it in ...

Re: Brown Areas

The brown area is at the top because that is where the nozzle is for a longer period of time and the ABS curls a bit because of the relatively high temperature. Then it is possible that the ABS touches the nozzle where the brown residue forms and it is then transferred a bit to the model. Which ''wi...

LED light flower

I printed an upscaled flower in red ABS on my Up! Plus, I used this STL:

The white thing underneath was a leftover piece that came in handy for this.

Re: Compairing cubify to up, any thaoughts?

I would like to say I printed the whole model, just rescaled it a bit. Maybe the picture doesn't do it justice because the camera was really close, but the whole model was printed from bottom to top.

And the support came off real easy, the model was clean in 2 minutes.

Re: "Fractal Blast Vase" by Dizingof

Hello, I decided to try some Dizingof for myself thanks to Julia Dee. Here is a picture of the Mud Vase, http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:24148 Not too hard to print but looks nice. I believe it was printed with 0.25 mm and it's about 12 centimeters tall. I will try more models, greetings all! Mud V...
