Up software 2.18

Saw the update, version 2.18 is available. No information anywhere yet, ony difference I noticed is under Tools, there is another ''Print again'' option but with Job1 next to it. I don't know what it does because it doesn't work, the text is grey. I thought this would be a great update because they ...

Re: partial print then air print issue

It would be a coincidence but you never know: I had air printing because of the rainbow cable on the print head. After initializing the room temp of the nozzle was too high (like 45 degrees in stead of 21) so ABS would be extruded too cold. Also the temp varied when printing because of this. So coul...

Re: Creating removable rafts/supports

For the record: I wasn't talking about the raft sticking to the bed, that works well and I know that you can use a piece of paper to adjust. I have found that raft and support removal (especially large flat areas) is much easier now I have calibrated the table of the Box manually and I deleted the a...

Re: Creating removable rafts/supports

I did some more testing and I really have great results by only calibrating manually , so make sure to reset/delete all values under ''3D Print/Platform Calibrate'' and turn the 3 knobs under the platform until it is leveled. Rafts come off easier for me now with various layer thicknesses, if more p...

Re: UP Box environment

Could you also check the temperature of the nozzle and table under Maintenance with room temp? So when the machine is cold and initialized. My machine had a temp of 45 when cold, table was 21. So when printing the nozzle doesn't get warm enough and filament can jam, I also had fluctuations so errors...

Up Box Nozzle Room Temp

I noticed that the temp reading when just initialized (not heated yet) for my Up Box is always too high. When the table is about 20 the head is just under 50 (47 degrees).. When I reseat the short rainbow cable it fluctuates high values and goes back down but it does print well. Can anybody check th...

Re: Thin Wall ?

I assume you mean 2.17, that is the latest version. I think they still stick to wall=two sides (so no single wall like open source printers) but the Thin wall option might slow down extrusion or something. They described it as Up wil try to print it anyway. And I can confirm it does make a differenc...

Re: UP Box environment

I would suggest to use the latest print head cover and bracket available in the spare parts folder of software 2.17, checking the white plastic cap on the gear is on tight and using OEM PP3DP/TierTime ABS filament. PLA is a bit more tricky, so can non OEM brands of ABS be some resellers sell. At lea...

Re: [BUG REPORT] Calibration model fails before completing r

Hello, welcome! First of all, I have heard often the Mac software isn't really the same or as updated as the Windows version. I recommend using the Win version, maybe through software on the Mac.. Second, I don't know what brabd of PLA you are using but Up printers and especially the Up Box are very...

Re: Creating removable rafts/supports

I also had this a few times.. It does help to calibrate the table well, first manually make it as level as possible and then automatic. I also had variable results with different colors, I think white original ABS has best removable support. It is important to use OEM filament with these high temps....

Re: Support ticket replies

You have answered your own question, in China they now have a holiday.. I have read some info about raftless printing on this forum, I never do but I know it is possible. You might have to test some with the table/nozzle height. I have noticed calibrating is important with the Up Box. I have had som...

Re: (Feature request )

Those would be nice features! Especially the slice/print preview. I know it is possible and very helpful, Zortrax among others has it so you can see where support is before you print. The Inspire printers also have a preview but that is a slice file, Up sends it directly but there is basically no di...

Re: UP 2.17 Software Test print of the new Thin Wall option

If you mean my post about wall thickness information: Well you participated yourself in this conversation that organically came to this info. I wanted to share the picture with the poster, pardon me. OP talked about thin walls and number of wall layers. Gordon: ''3 layers of wall'' Roller: ''anythin...

Re: Problem with 0.1mm prints

Here is more info about the printing parameters from the Up Box manual. It explains a lot about support and more and confirms what Jason said. Nevertheless I would like the option to select more raft support layers, the red area in the picture. The latest software version 2.17 did produce better rem...

Re: UP 2.17 Software Test print of the new Thin Wall option

I found this picture in the latest Up Box manual, it will answer some of our questions. We should all RTFM more  This picture has some info I didn't know as well.. It confirms what I was asking Jason about support settings in another thread: dense support is support higher than raft so it is ad...

Re: UP 2.17 Software Test print of the new Thin Wall option

@gordon37: I'm not 100% sure but I believe I once heard the layer setting for the part is only for the bottom (and maybe top) not the walls. I thought they are always 1 - 1.5 mm thick. But I never measured, hopefully you can check for us and measure.

Re: UP Software 2.17

@mb20music: From what version are you upgrading? Version 2.15 also had bigger rafts, I didn't notice 2.17 has bigger ones than 2.15.

But: try to print your model at the borders you will see the raft will be cut off. So you can print exactly the build size of your Up printer. :D

Re: UP 2.17 Software Test print of the new Thin Wall option

Thanks for the test Gordon, that is helpful! It would be nice to know the specifics about this feature, I even missed that it was an option  Because of Ian's post I looked and it's a tick box before printing. So what does this exactly do, what is a thin wall? Is it 0.5 mm? Will printing a sing...
