Re: I can't print a 1cm cube, can you?
Hi Marcus, Thanks for your suggestions. I have tried printing with different layer thicknesses, and try to use .2 and normal most of the time. Although fine didn't seem to make much difference in this instance. I also tried printing 2 cubes along side each other. Again it didn't really improve thing...

I can't print a 1cm cube, can you?
Still rather new to the UP world, but I have successfully printed the ubiquitous yoda head and bunny without too much problem. Today I tried to print a 1cm cube, mainly to see how accurate it would turn out in X,Y and Z dimensions. Anyway it starts off fine, but as it goes it begins to warp until th...

working with autodesk 123D, problems
Hi I've been spending some time with 123D but for some reason I can't get simple models to print correctly. For instance if I make a simple tube 10mm diameter and wall thickness of 1mm and length 50 it prints a tube but with a neat gap all the way down the side. I've tried other shapes too, but will...

Re: Compairing cubify to up, any thaoughts?
Hi, I'm only new to the UP machine but I'll have a stab. Firstly have a look through this forum, as the cubify has been discussed a few times. General consensus is that print quality is currently equal or less than that of the UP. The kicker is of course, its not available. Sorry, can't give any adv...

Re: temperatures
Hi Peter,
thanks for that! I didn't realize. I've not got any PLA to try at present anyway...
It shouldn't be too much trouble to add in a "tunable" temperature control. Fingers crossed.
Cheers

temperatures
Hi I just received my new printer, and the new models don't have a thermister pot. I assume that now UP intend on making the temperature adjustment available through software? Otherwise how do you control temperature when printing with PLA ? Now that PLA is advertised as one of the printing material...

Re: Material in Australia
Thanks Drew for the link. Lots to read. Don't understand all the mods at this stage, but I'm sure I will once I have my machine in front of me. Hi Eurisko84, thanks for the heads up. The stuff from indocomtech looks promising too. Please let us know how it turns out. Back to reading...... Cheers Jamie

Re: Material in Australia
Thanks for the replies and welcome! I assume most filament is made in China? Unfortunately shipping it from the US to Australia is quite expensive, at least going on the couple websites recommended. And if it has already been shipped then it would seem I'm paying double handling. As for varying widt...

Material in Australia
Hi all First post. I just pulled the trigger on an UP machine, after what I hope was careful consideration. It will probably be a week or two before I actually have the unit in my sweaty little hands though. Can't wait. In the mean time I'm trying to work out alternatives for printing material. It s...
