Eddie, I believe a pretty good test to establishif it ABS or PLA is to dissolve it in MEK(Methyl Ethyl Ketone), or Acetone. If it dissolves easily it is probably ABS. as PLA does not react readily to these solvents. Just wipe a peice of the material with the solvent, if it is immediately sticky its ...

Just curious, I do not seem to suffer the shrinkage you were getting, using the original UP1 wind barrier Is it possibly the material, where did you buy your ABS. It seems there is ABS & ABS, not to mention the variable PLA ! Maybe it's not just varying diameter and color additives that make these m...

Anyone any ideas. This may seem mad but I want to print a water filter for a pump (rate around 150L/m) It struck me that the UP fill pattern would make an ideal filter grid. In theory I would creat a STL file of a solid cylinder with a loose fill set on the UP and could at the lower end just hacksaw...
Jamie, While the newer model does not have a tweakable pot the PLA temperature is "activated" when you change the material setting to PLA. This is done in the maintenance menu under "New Spool", where you can choose ABS or PLA. You will see under maintance mode temperature monitoring that the printe...

It may be that the upper limit has corrupted or that you sometime set a lower than normal Z height. I notice that in the maintenance window the nozzle & platform max height shows as a number 1mm higher thanv the last setting used. If you have not already done so. Set the height as high as you can wi...

I have also just printed and fitted the new windshield, the one that sets the fan at an angle. I am having the same problem, most prints are warping at the first or second print layer stage. This is regardless as to whether I print onto Kapton or perfboard. I rarely had warping problems with the ori...

Hi, I am new here so this question may have been answered before. I already print (ABS) onto Kaptop without a raft, however I want to print some models with NO support material, even though there is a internal void. Example, I want to print a keyfob. 3D model has a void where the key will fit. The i...
