Re: New user and CURA support almost integrated

Images should work as attachments no problem. at least jpg. python file you probably have to add to a .zip file and upload that as an attachment.

Cheers :-) will post on the forum later today with instructions how to use. I is weird how their axis systems are well a bit different... LOL! Re: New user and CURA support almost integrated

I'm working on replacing the control board all together, but there have been more than one request for Cura in general so think it would be great if you could put it on github or something for others to use and learn from. Great work, I like how the communities always find a way to work around manuf...

Re: New user and CURA support almost integrated

Interesting, will follow this thread.

I couldn't see a micro sd card socket on the internal pictures of the upbox+ on the fcc site, so unless you can get the gcode with f.ex. wireshark I'm guessing it won't be very easy. (Maybe there is a card socket under the CPU module?)

Re: Up! Mini 2 + Duet electronics! (Linear rails and real hotbed!)

Bed is all glued up; used some "704" allegedly thermally conductive silicone like stuff that should be good to 250C to bond the heater wire to the heatsink, and covered it all with regular red high temperature silicone, added a layer of ceramic wool for insulation and covered with a silicone impregn...

Re: magnetic build plates

Btw, if you're in the US you might want to try this https://www.mcmaster.com/7301t21

Its supposed to be good for 250F/120C but I can't get it and test as I'm not in the US.

Re: The thickness of the paper for manual calibration

I don't there is a universal answer for that as it will depend on the filament you use, the temperature of both head and bed and how well you want the print to stick. But you can use any thickness and adjust the bed offset setting after to achieve the adhesion or relieve "elephant foot" after. To gi...

Re: ABS warping on the larger build plate.

You can always remove the "buildtak" style surface and use the flexboard as a perfboard once its past its prime, natural causes or otherwise.

Re: ABS warping on the larger build plate.

I'd caution against using acetone on the flex board, i tried cleaning it with acetone and acetone disolves the material, and also made it very brittle so it cracked on the next print. Isopropyl alcohol is fine.

Perfboard is ok as JothamB describes, just not the flexboard.

Re: Cetus3D MkII on 24V?

Only issue with going to 24V is the wiring to the heaters, given the resistance stays the same in heaters you'll increase the current a bit, and quite possibly exceed the nominal rating for the connectors and ribbon/flat cable. If they don't get warm to the touch you'll be fine, I chose to replace t...

Can you tell me which IR cam you're using? The pics look great ;)
Seek thermal compact. Its a micro usb dongle to my phone. Not as good as Flir for most things, but it does have wider temperature range than flir, so better for electronics.

Re: magnetic build plates

I considered it, to mill out pockets in one of the perf boards and glue in some Ø4mmx1mm N35UH magnets and order spring steel sheets. One of the vendors on ali would offer to cut custom sizes for a markup.

But decided to replace the bed in its entirety instead.

Re: Up! Mini 2 + Duet electronics! (Linear rails and real hotbed!)

Yeah, but not sure I want to put that beast on top of the ABS parts that hold the bed - gonna have to look into some insulation and shielding of the parts at least - which would cost me even more Z height, of which I'm already loosing some. But at least I can get up to temp if I deem the rest of the...

Re: Up! Mini 2 + Duet electronics! (Linear rails and real hotbed!)

Holy crap that worked better than I would have dared to dream of. Maybe I can cut down on the amount of aluminium for the bed, because this was plenty rigid and had zero temperature gradient. I just hooked it straight up to 230V and let it sit for 3 minutes while recording the whole thing, and it ju...

Re: An unexplained feed failure. No mechanical failure this time.

Okay, I didn't realize. I was following the instructions from the seller. Regardless the PLA head has been working with ABS for a long time now. I guess I can't use this head for PLA anymore if the PTFE is damaged but I've never tried printing PLA with this machine anyway. ABS doesn't damage the te...

Re: ***PLEASE HELP- MY BOX+ STOPS EXTRUDING***

You say you changed the nozzle and cleaned the gear, did you also clean the heat break between the gear and the nozzle? I used a hot air gun and heated it until I could pull out the scorched plastic stuck to the walls, and then pushed some clean filament through without the nozzle. Asking the printe...
