Re: I can't level my platform - z slipping? :-(

I use the 3M blue painters tape and haven't had a problem with anything coming loose from it. Only when putting some of the largest models that use almost the whole build area have I had any problems with warp. But I do make sure that I preheat my build platform to 90 to 95 C before I even hit print...

Re: Upgrade for older printers!!

I ended up having to replace my mainboard. The traces were just too thin for me to solder back to. I have been much more careful with the new mainboard and do not move the printer around as much as I used to.

Re: New Up! Extruder Stepper runs too hot

Madox, I am anxious to see if you have made any headway using the upgraded hardware in running PLA. I was considering doing the update but the US distributor was still in the process of getting their store up and running when I saw your message. I currently have a V1 early machine (got mine right ar...

Re: Roland iModela iM-01

I think "waste" is a little harsh. It is a small height travel, but it is a start. I imagine as they continue their improvement path, that dimension will also increase. We are seeing incredible tools that can now be added to home workshops at unbelievable prices. Who would have thought that a home c...

Re: "Platform TOO Hot" Error

Support is sending me a heater cable to replace the one I have. Hopefully that works. Should be back up and running sometime next week. One thing I did find while going back through old blog posts and software info pages as I tried to troubleshoot this was the "UPInspector.exe" program that came wit...

Re: "Platform TOO Hot" Error

I tried some short prints, 15 and 20 min. in length and everything seems to work again. I will try a 6.5 hour print when I get home and see how that goes, hopefully it is fixed. The one thing I noticed when putting everything back together yesterday was that there was a bit of tape that held the cab...

Re: "Platform TOO Hot" Error

Madox, This is the connector you are talking about, right (see image below)? Just inside the platform support arm. I went ahead and unplugged and then re-seated it, but it did not appear to be loose. I re-checked all of the other plus and they also seemed firm. The little heater and the sensor SEEM ...

Re: "Platform TOO Hot" Error

I will recheck all the cables again. I re-seated them all and they SEEMED OK, but who knows. Also had a friend stop by, and he said he also runs a fan blowing a little air over the platform and he hasn't had any problems with an overheat, so I may have to try that. I just had a second "Too Hot" even...

Re: "Platform TOO Hot" Error

That could be it. I have always just let the printer set on the tabletop on its' feet. Maybe I need to set it up on some blocks to allow for better air circulation underneath to help keep it cool. I would probably need to come up with some way to try and stabilize it from moving during prints to kee...

"Platform TOO Hot" Error

Just had an error pop up after a full day of printing, "Platform TOO Hot" and it stopped the printer in mid-print. It shut off all motion and started cool down. I couldn't really see any way to restart it, so i shut everything down and called it a night. I started the day by printing an object that ...

Re: Where to order my UP! from? in the UK

I am in the US, and I did not have to pay any import duties on mine. It cleared customs real quick. For the early shipments, some people were getting calls from customs as to what the item actually was so they could classify it and see if there was a tariff on it, but i didn't even receive on of the...

Re: Where to order my UP! from? in the UK

I also purchased mine direct from UP! when you had to wire transfer funds, before even the Paypal option. A little spooky when there were just a few posters on the forum board, and no history or anything yet on Google. It was a pretty big leap of faith. But they sent emails immediately and the shipp...

Re: New Upper, wont be long!

I am one of the people who had the USB port pop off the mainboard. As far as I know mine was only the second (I think CyberBadger or Virtox was the other). Mine was an issue of leaving the USB cable plugged in while bringing it to work and when I set it down or while it was in the car it put a littl...

Re: Please download the upgraded V1.12

Soapy,

You might try the "Solution for "USB.DLL" not found" page in the Blog & news section at http://pp3dp.com/index.php?option=com_c ... &Itemid=50 and see if that helps. It sort of looks like that might cover your problem.

Re: 1.11 software

Just after I wrote this post I was getting ready to print something and I snapped the USB plug off the mainboard when trying to plug the cable in. I went ahead and pulled the covers off to see what happened and if I might be able to fix and I did finally locate the card slot. I just never had a need...

Broken USB Connector

Guys, Brought the printer into the office to print a couple of proto parts for fit checks and while I was plugging the USB cable back in the USB surface mount connector popped off the main board. Looks similar to what Cyberbadger had happen back in January, but when mine popped, it did not pull the ...

Re: how to stop a print

Olaf, In the early versions of the software (pre version 1.11) if you stopped a print early there was a problem with how the software estimated how much ABS was left on your spool. I think it was subtracting out the full amount of ABS from the total not taking into account you stopped the print some...

Re: 1.11 software

Virtox or Darkhouse, I believe I have one of the early version UPs (no SD card) and I am looking at upgrading to the V1.11 software, but the statement that the printer is now storing the calibration data on the SD card has me worried. Since I have no SD card port, this isn't going to work with my pr...
