Ensure the "Dense" setting is 4 or more and then watch this to see how to use the chisels.

Re: Some cool prints on the UP

Hi! Could you please post the exact setup settings for the bracelet? Also, is it the smaller one or the large one? Here are the 1.0.8 settings I used to print the large STL of Nervous System's Subdivision bracelet without support material: n-e-r-v-o-u-s_Subdivision_L_Settings.JPG The settings shoul...

Get odiegal's manual quick-fast-in-a-hurry! ;) http://www.ciri.org.nz/downloads/UP!%20 ... 101228.pdf
It contains many corrections and clarifications to the OEM one, and will really set you UP!

Please make the icons bigger. 64x64 is too small; the rest of the map is still visible! ;)

Here's a video that might help: http://vimeo.com/18525405

As others have pointed out, for 1.x software set Densae at >= 4. 3 is NOT the magic number ;)

Re: Share your molten, broken, open, noodle-ized prints!

I've only had two prints go awry. The first was epic: the extruder mounting bolt loosened on a four hour overnight print. I awoke to an insane spaghetti monster that I cleaned up and quickly forgot. The second was meh; it was a poorly oriented model that I aborted 5 minutes in. To protect the innoce...

Re: Perfboard Wear

If you told me a couple months ago that printing on top of perfboard will eventually wear it out - I wouldn't have believed you. I haven't had prints fail on it, but the surface is slowly getting worn away. Some areas (that are printed on frequently) are pitted like crazy... Time to flip it over to...

Let There Be Light!

Here's my ghetto solution to adding light to my UP! so I can see prints while in progress! It's a non-destructive mod that can easily removed or improved. My first thought was to mod the Wind Barrier.STL file and add a mount for a section of LED ribbon to it (I dare you!) ;) . I got lazy and decided...

Re: TeamTeamUSA - You want the Naked Chumby Case?

Pro-tip - it MIGHT be better to screw the battery holders towards the centre to give better loads distribution across the wheels. Ah I knew I put all those screw holes there for a reason ;) RAPID PROTOTYPING! DSC03748B.JPG Looks GR8, Madox! :) A couple questions as I build mine: 1. Is there any rea...

Re: Cleaning the nozzle

At the very beginning of time, my nozzle did not get caked up. Then, the filament started curling up and touching the hot end. Probably about the time I switched filament type. Of recent, it hasn't really been touching at all. I pretty much do as you do. Let things dangle, pick the nose, and carry ...

I downloaded the 7z file; thanks! :) Dum di dum, don't print that Infocast holder that way...it'll work but it will be fugly... finally figured out why... I'll bite... why? Re: Anyone having issues with outer faces not getting filled

There's a workaround, I print on an angle to avoid this problem My ASCII art skills aren't up to it ;) Basically experiment and rotate your model 30/45degrees from the horizontal. You'll get more support area but the sides 'might' be filled ;) Or avoid having a 'flat' top surface. In what axis, X o...

Re: Initial setup questions / Extruder alignment

settings 0.4 fast, 40 deg, solid, dense 4, the rest default. Has it something to do with the area setting (was on default 5 mm2) Congrats on your first print! :) Yes, to avoid the support inside the whistle you need to set the Area> value to 10 mm2. Do the new prints use the M3x30mm or M3x32mm bolts for roller assembly?
