I wound up cutting down my spacers and was able to set the height within the parameters.
Thanks for the tip anyway.
It's working well with my platform and the latest version.

Re: Help to update
Yes, I had made a custom platform with its own heaters and temp control. So I replaced the standard platform with a 1/4" aluminum plate that I added 4 heaters. On top of that I have a high temp piece of glass with an etched surface. The system works like a charm with very even heat and after making ...

Re: Help to update
Ok, so the update went just fine. BUT !!! I can't print.
I set my platform height just as I have always done before and it is at 118.0
But when I go to print preview, it is prompting me to set a number between 125 and 145.
How can I resolve this?
Please help someone.

Re: Help to update
Thanks mb20music.
So I'm guessing that I should install while connected to my UP and it will automatically update the ROM?
Or do I install the software first, then there is another step involved to update the ROM.
Thanks

Help to update
Hi All - I've had my plus for many years now and never really updated it because it worked just fine and I didn't want to screw it up! I have v1.12 running now but just changed my computer to a 64 bit machine and this old UP software won't install. I've noticed a new 2.12 update that will also updat...

Re: Printer just stops at the raft stage
No, didn't know about that function, but I think I found the problem with not
the correct temp of the platform. I replaced the heater with a spare I had and
now it's working again.
Thanks

Printer just stops at the raft stage
I've had my Up for a few years now and still on version 1.2 as I'm reluctant to change anything as it always worked just fine. I also have taken apart the nozzle assembly and had to clean all tubes and the nozzle, so I am familiar with this problem. What I am experiencing now is the the platform jus...

Re: Extrusion head stops and makes a clicking sound
Perhaps this is clearer to my previous post.
The only area that I would ream larger, would be about 95% of the upper part of the tube,
and the smaller, original ID would only remain where it is inside of the nozzle, and getting
the maximum heat for melt.
What do you think?

Re: Extrusion head stops and makes a clicking sound
Actually, looking at my machine again, see the attached drawing...
I wouldn't be changing the outer diameter of the tube as that would still fit snug against the ID
of the nozzle.
I would just buy a small reamer to enlarge the ID of the Tube only.

Re: Extrusion head stops and makes a clicking sound
Hi Drew, I can understand that, as my day job is engineering for a toy company, and I'm involved in plastics and molding every day. I was thinking of machining my own part to experiment with, and perhaps enlarging the tube only until the end before the nozzle where the opening would taper to a close...

Re: Extrusion head stops and makes a clicking sound
Hi Drew, Thanks for the explanation about the varying size of the filament. So, if the tube above the nozzle is purely for holding the plastic before it gets to the nozzle to be melted, why not ream out the tube to be slightly oversize to handle all these differences? It would seem to me that making...

Re: Extrusion head stops and makes a clicking sound
Ok, so I cleaned the nozzle and tube once again, but I changed to a different reel of filament, and it looks like it's working again. On a whim, I measured my pp3dp blue filament, and it varied from 1.67mm to as much as 1.83mm and I'm wondering if this had something to do with the material not extru...

Re: Extrusion head stops and makes a clicking sound
I did the acetone and propane torch method. I always keep a spare nozzle in acetone anyway. I even pushed the back end of a drill bit (.073") through the tube several times to make sure it is nice and clean. I just removed the whole nozzle assembly again and rain the extrude function just to check t...

Extrusion head stops and makes a clicking sound
Hi All - I was printing a part and soon after the raft was started the head stopped extruding plastic and kept making a clicking sound. I though it was dirty, so I removed the nozzle and the tube assembly and cleaned them very well, but the problem still exists. It started to print the raft, but whe...

Re: Raft Problems
The nozzle does have some black scale on the outside, but I do swap out nozzles every once in a while, maybe about every 40-50 hours of printing. I keep some spare nozzles in a jar of acetone, so they are pretty clean. My prints do come out fairly good though. I thought it might be an alignment prob...

Raft Problems
Hi All - Recently on my 2 year old original UP! I'm getting a weird raft build as seen in the attached photo (sorry for some blur). It seems that the forward/backward motion is not working consistently as to laying down lines. Every other row seems to be "balling" up for lack of a better term, and g...

Re: PLA temperatures
PS. Where can I find the wind barrier?
Also, can you explain a bit more about the vapor smoothing? Does the model actually sit immersed in the acetone,
or is the acetone in a separate part of the jar, and doesn't touch the model?
Thanks
Ken

Re: PLA temperatures
At one time I considered upgrading the software, but read some stories about how you had to do the firmware in steps first, and sounded like a complex thing to do. The last thing I wanted is to try to upgrade and have problems, as I use my machine for work constantly, and really can't afford to scre...
