Re: WORKING: SOFTWARE TEMP MOD - ADJUSTABLE LAYER HEIGHTS !

Ok tried this out, but, ive hit a bit of a snag Im using winxp The fix seemed to work fine until I tried it with the printer pluged in Now the software is non functional in that you cant see the surface where models are placed at all, intead there is a single 'line' in the unfixed version and a seri...

Re: WORKING: SOFTWARE TEMP MOD - ADJUSTABLE LAYER HEIGHTS !

Can anybody tell me the ideal temperatures for the 'value' filament from 3d printing systems.
I've got two rolls of the stuff, black and green, and would like to try this out using that filament.

Thankyou to those who freed the up : )

Re: Learning new things - voronoi

I have had stuff all luck with voronoi striuctures, the support material removal destroys the print.
How did you manage that, settings?

Have you tried printing the "coral cuffs" off thingiverse
They were always a fail for me

Re: resin vs filament?

I have been looking for a decent resin printer just so I dont have to be limited by the f* support material, which, lets face it is a pain. You do realize that the "resin" printers still have support material you will have to remove, just think about how the parts are printed and you will come to r...

Re: resin vs filament?

SLA gives better quality and resolution, but it is generally smelly, sticky, messy and more expensive. Parts from SLA machines can also be much stronger, but also brittle and sensitive to sunlight which increases this issue over time. I've had a Form1 and Form1+ as well as have a MakeX on the way. ...

resin vs filament?

I havean up plus 2, which I am vrry happy with.
But I have seen resin printers becoming cheaper with excellent resolution.
Examples being the ibox nano (I know tiny build area) note if the small one is sucessful a bigger one will be released.

What are your thoughts and experiences?

Re: lifting at the corners

Thanks for the tips guys
I moved the model so that it was more centered over the off center heating block

It worked enough to use the part

Now I just have to find a cheap enough heat gun/device to reset the colour after sanding : )

Re: lifting at the corners

To clarify, the raft is sticking to the perf board just fine, but the 90 degree corners are lifting off thecraft before the print completes.
Ideas?

lifting at the corners

I am printing a keychain that is a square, 40mm square and 5mm thick.
It is tending to lift at the corners, which doesnt seem to happen with hexagon shapes
How can I stop it lifting at the corners?

Thanks all : )

Re: raised lettering issue

Ill try the printing it on edge option, but still it is very disappointing that seeming just from the path that the nozzle takes, can totally screw up the serface of ones print Ive printed things with far finer surface features that came out ok but were a single path. Anything that has a zig zag pat...

Re: raised lettering issue

Are you using the "Fine" print setting and .15 layer height with solid fill? Also, the larger and bolder the letters are, the better it fills in and some fonts will turn out better than others, best to use thicker fonts if you haven't already discovered that. Yes I have discovered thicker fonts wor...

raised lettering issue

Im printing name tags with raised lettering and there is an issue The top surface of the lettering is not perfectly complete. I am assuming its because of the zig zag nature of the layer fill pattern the up uses, but im not sure Is there any way to mske the up 'colour in' in concentric patterns inst...

Re: Few procedural models printed using my Up2

Wow, some of those look really cool, nicely done.
I have had alot of problems trying to print voronoi on the Up plus 2
What were the exact settings you used to print the voronoi, especially the finer structures

opinions on the helios one?

Saw the new helios one 3d printer, looks very interesting.
I am waiting for more details from the company.

Is that video in real time or is it sped up?

What are your opinions?

Re: trying to print this...help!

Just tried to print with the advice given here and it failed again. Might put this in the impossible basket for the up. Could try it one more time but not sure it is worth it. If anyone here prints it, I'd love to see the results. One comment though, on one side of the bracelet, there is a tight cel...

Re: trying to print this...help!

Thank you this is very helpful, and I'm still learning the ropes with my up.

How do you print the support material :

Less densely
More sparse (less actual support especially for voronoi)

What settings do I use?

Thank you again

Re: trying to print this...help!

Thank you for your response. I'm still playing with settings.
I tried what you suggested and unfortunately the voronoi structure was compromised and the print was stopped.

Disappointing really that these structures are so difficult to print on an up...
