Re: Reims Cathederal kitset

Amazing job; both on the SW models and the prints! That is a ton of work and the result is well worth it.

Thanks for sharing!

Re: Cubify - 3D printing for everyone! (or maybe not)

Yeah, I saw a similar estimate on cost for Cubify here: http://www.additive3d.com/3dpr_cht.htm I was considering a Cubify before I dug in and did the research about filament cost. Not to mention the talk that the filament cartridges were chipped to track use, etc. Even sticking with Delta Micro appr...

Please fix the spam issues on the forum. All the spam really detracts from an otherwise wonderful source of information and collaboration.

Thanks and keep up the great work!

Re: Platform heater repeated failures

Thanks for the replies. I unplugged, examined, and then reconnected the platform heater cable after it appeared intact. I then heated the platform to 103-104C, jogged the axis back and forth, up and down, while gently tugging on the cable to test for broken connections. I couldn't seem to make it br...

Re: Platform heater repeated failures

Anyone else had "Platform too hot" errors? It halts a print and just sits there until I reset the system. I have tried a number of prints now and keep getting stopped by this error. I checked the heater cable as suggested above and it appears to be intact. I also tried unplugging the USB cable, but ...

But still really nice.
Thanks, I'll keep that in mind. Guess I need to invest in the Petitclerc Feeder Mechanism :)

WOT Dragon

Hi all, Just wanted to share one of my prints that came out fairly nice. The base design for the dragon comes from one of my favorite series, The Wheel of Time, by Robert Jordan. Please note that the base design and all that are owned by Tor. I am loving the Up! It looks fairly good when backlit in ...

Re: Ordering from UP3DUSA

After my request to UP3DUSA, they got the printer to me within the 45 days of PayPal buyer protection. It took about 6 weeks total, from when I placed the order. I installed and calibrated it this weekend and am now on my fourth print! So far so good and I have been fairly impressed with the quality...

Re: Ordering from UP3DUSA

I ordered an UP 4 weeks ago from 3DUSA when they quoted me a 3-5 week lead time. They are now telling me the worst case could be early September, which would be 8+ weeks! That time frame extends well beyond the 45 days of buyer protection that PayPal offers, which I am not willing to go beyond. It s...

Re: Compairing cubify to up, any thaoughts?

Thanks for posting these! Here is a side by side with the available pics: Compare.jpg Pics via Dizingof for the rendering, Tom Meeks for Cubify, and pp3dp.nl for the UP. The UP printing appears of higher quality, but I'm not sure about two things: - How much time Tom spent removing support material ...

Too bad this post couldn't get stickied or whatever the equivalent is on this forum. It answers a lot of questions that people who are looking into buying an UP have and would save others from having to dig so much to find it.

UPUPandAway, almost a year later have you been happy with your UP?

Re: Compairing cubify to up, any thaoughts?

Hi, I'm new to the forum and have been trying to decide which 3D printer to buy. I was interested upon seeing the Cubify, but in doing more research and especially stumbling upon this forum have really been leaning towards buying an UP. Has anyone done similar testing on the UP to what Tom Meeks has...
