Support structure Alignments

I am playing with this, but I was hoping that someone might already know the answer. I am printing small LED prototypes and I need to leave a hole for the wires. These prototypes are about 2" long, and the hole is about 1/8" x 3/16" (rectangular). I was trying to get the support structure that print...

PLEASE PLEASE add this..... I don't know about you, but I am working on a 1920x1200 monitor, screen real estate is not a problem, Stack up those ICONS! 14> add a + & - to the MOVE function, so you can set the distance and move it in BOTH directions without having to constantly change the setting. Re: Z axis problems

If the system is off, can you manually raise the bed past that point? Does it move smoothly? We had major problems with the Z-axis not working properly, it was jumping and chattering. If I moved it manually, I could feel that it was not smooth at points, and it was not always at the same places, so ...

Re: How to clean Perf board?

That tool looks pretty cool, but it is essentially an AWL, Which I am using now, but I have one board that even an awl won't clean.

I'll try the acetone soon and let you know.

Re: Better Raft sticking / Raft Pull up

We've had it for 6ish weeks, but our first unit had multiple problems, one of them being a bad z-axis, both rails & drive system. I've had the current unit for two weeks. Platform level: Check Nozzle height: Check Hot: Fingers Burned - Check! Clean board: for sure Extrude: straight and makes a clean...

Re: Prints still skewing to the right.

1. Did you press the "Reset" before entering your new values in the "Calibration" menu, if you don't do this every time you enter new numbers it just adds the value to what is already in, this can cause a lot of offset. SOOO, does that mean if we use the button on the front to "shutdown" we are cle...

Better Raft sticking / Raft Pull up

I keep having this problem with the print head pulling its own raft off the perfboard during the first 1/2/3 layers. It is specifically related to when the print head finishes a "trace" on the first layer - when it stops one trace and starts the next, but still on the first layer. The Z-axis pulls d...

How to clean Perf board?

So I have been running for a while now and every so often I get the nozzle height a little too close to the perf board.... And it really jams the first raft layer in. Any idea on how to get the holes cleaned out? The will not poke out with a sharp awl - do I need to freeze the board? do I need to he...

Sideways nozzle block heater?

Sooooo I was wondering if there was any reason that the print head & heater could not be mounted "sideways"? I know that the wind barrier would have to be re-designed to allow for this. BUT since I like to be able to see up close as it is printing, and so do the people who visit, I'd like to turn th...

Thermally Controlled Fans

Has Anyone swapped out the fans on the "motherboard" with something a bit more quiet? Even when the unit has been running for a while, I don't even notice the slightest bit of heat being exhausted. Could they be smaller? Run them at 1/2 speed? Seems that for a few pennies more they could have includ...

Re: Filament feeder v2 on new version UP.

We just got a unit without it. I was concerned that it would be needed, as the photos show it. So far I have only had one print mess up because of what I think *might* have been a feed problem. It could have been some stray static crap that got fed into the feed causing it to stop feeding. The 2nd r...

Re: Printing-plattform crashes down

We had this problem. Happened 3 times and I got it on video the 3rd time. Quite scary when it happens. Here's all that I know, It happened when connected to a desktop running Windows7, both 1.15 & 1.16. I then connected to a brand new laptop also running windows 7, and it didn't happen again. Re: I can't print a 1cm cube, can you?

Thanks Drew, Will that actually make the motor feed FASTER? I thought that was just to make sure you get a good grip on the material? I was thinking I needed to actually Increase the volume/speed of the feed motor. I am getting good extrusion, it's just less because less is being pushed in, and it i...

Re: I can't print a 1cm cube, can you?

Sorry for delay in the much needed update here. So the unit that I had was NFG.... Seems there was more than one problem because even after being serviced by UP! usa, it was still mis-behaving. And for those of you searching - I did have the Z axis DROP right in the middle of printing, more than onc...

Re: I can't print a 1cm cube, can you?

I just got a new UP! plus as well - in Brooklyn NY. I just printed a 1cm cube and I am getting the same results. Fine and Normal - Default preferences, UP! V1.16 I am having other issues where tall prints (about 2cm+) are getting out of wack, but I think they are slide related - unit going back to d...
