Extruder Nozzle Heater

Anyone know where I can purchase an UP! Extruder Nozzle Heater? The US store is out of stock, and the Canadian website should be taken down as I don't believe there is ANY local support for this machine in Canada.

Short in wires, now UP! won't power up.

The two wires at the bottom of the nozzle shorted out, the machine instantly shut down, and now the machine won't power up. Not sure what I fried. Any suggestions? A fuse I don't know about? No smell of anything burning so maybe it's an easy fix. UPDATE: Thought my power bar was fine as the light wa...

Re: Chemical to turn plastic to more of a rubber state.

Coating wouldn't achieve what I'm looking for. Printing rubber would be great. Looking forward to hearing more about that. Also, if it prints using pellets, maybe printing with Poly Morph would work!

That might be my only option. I'll let you know if I find another way. Thanks!

Chemical to turn plastic to more of a rubber state.

Anyone know of a chemical I can soak a part in to give it more of a rubber state? I want to be able to bend a thin part without it breaking. I know acetone with do this for awhile but only for a short time before it hardens.

Yes I did. Is there a setting or does it automatically not print that first layer?

Great update! Any idea where the setting is to stop the first layer from printing in raftless mode?

Re: Replicator2

Maybe I'm not looking hard enough, but I've yet to see a print from the Replicator 2 that beats what my UP! prints. I'd be taking my UP! in for repairs if it printing something like this. http://www.makerbot.com/wp-content/themes/makerbot/images/press/REP2_PRESS_15x10_high19.jpg or this http://www.m...

Re: Resetting Platform Heat

Got a new heating element but for now am leaving connected but outside of the machine as I'm enjoying printing on the cold bed. Much better for raftless printing, as it doesn't distort the first few layers due to the table heat.

Re: Resetting Platform Heat

Yes, the 358 degrees is just what's being reported, even when all wires are disconnected. Not too sure where I would place this resistor. Thanks for the help. :)

Resetting Platform Heat

I had the wires to the table heater break. To my surprise I was getting along fine printing on the cold perf board with a layer of acetone and plastic mix. Things were going good but now I notice the table heat is at 358 degrees and the printer is shutting down due to thinking it's over heating. Is ...

Re: Up3 File Format - Pointless?

Not a problem. :) I had the machine for 2 months before figuring that one out as I don't think it's covered in the manual.

Re: Up3 File Format - Pointless?

If you load more than one model, place them where you want, then merge the models, you can then save the multiple models and their placement to an .up file.

Is your machine completely stopping, or is it just not extruding plastic and still going through the motions?

Re: Print randomly stops part way through

Now my table isn't heating at all, and to my surprise everything is printing fine! I always put a fine coat of UP! plastic and Acetone on the perf board. Didn't realize it worked so well I was wasting my time waiting for the table to heat up. I'm doing small, and fairly flat objects so there still m...
