Re: [BUG REPORT] Nozzle too hot

I experienced the same issue today with my Up Plus 2. I have not used it in about a year and thought to give it a bit of work again today, but firstly I could not seem to set the nozzle height while calibrating and the calibration window kept bombing out and the bed moved by itself back to 90 mm on ...

Re: Up Box Heater Coil Malfunction

Thanks, yes I went ahead and did it in any case after posting because I had the same nagging suspicion. I just thought it would be good to have the info (And if somebody can still give us these pinouts that would be great for future reference) and systematically trace the fault with a multi meter to...

Up Box Heater Coil Malfunction

Hi guys, I need help please. My extruder heater coil suddenly stopped working. When extruding the heater does not heat up at all and the temp indication on up studio actually seems to fall slightly. I removed the heater and PT100 cluster and measured the heater coil. I get about 8.5ohm which to my k...

Re: Up Box printing Oval in stead of round.

Hi guys, I thought I would give feedback here on my problem. By pure chance a friend was standing in front of my printer the other day and asked me why my horizontal bar looked skew.....well suffice it to say I immediately looked at what he was pointing at and lo and behold I saw the whole print hea...

Hi Microtech, Can you give some feedback if you managed to sort out the problem ? I also encounter this often.

That would be great thanks Owen. I am not sure how to attach the stl file here. If you could please give me your e-mail address I can mail it to you.

Re: Up Box printing Oval in stead of round.

Thanks Owen, I fully agree with your assessment and I am also quite confused by the constant error in the diagonal. That only points to X and Y being out but measuring X and Y independently does not seem to indicate such an error. My mind is standing towards some kind of error in software in the syn...

Re: Can't seem to get Vases to work

Can't you just shell the solid object with the wall thickness you need in your CAD software and then export it ready to print to stl ?

Up Box printing Oval in stead of round.

Hi guys, I have a problem here I hope somebody can help steer me in the right direction. I am also getting help from our importers here in South Africa to troubleshoot but I believe in asking for help everywhere. I printed a round (123mm diameter) ring for a client a few days ago. The end result was...

Nozzle Temp Dropping

Hi guys, I have a very weird problem which I hope you guys can help me with. It surfaced last night when I started a print and the nozzle heated up to 260 C and the print started. Within about 30 seconds the print stopped with a "Nozzle too cold" error. I initialized the printer again and did a with...

Re: UP Studio Manual PDF Link

Thanks Guys, I think I did not make my question clear. Usually when I do an Auto Calibration I manually subtract 0.2mm from the nozzle height as I like the raft to be light (If that makes sense) so on the old Up software just before I did a print preview I would just adjust the nozzle height by 0.2m...

Re: UP Studio Manual PDF Link

Hi guys, I see this post is a while back but I am looking for some kind of manual for the newest (Or as new as there is) Up Studio. Can somebody please point me to where I can get the manual ? The resource download page of Up3D support does not have a manual for studio to be downloaded. I specifical...

Re: Creating removable rafts/supports

When you are printing for clients there is no getting away from support material. I unfortunately do not have the luxury of telling my clients, I can't print their models because it requires support. I just avoid printing in 0.1mm altogether unless absolutely necessary and a client demands it. In an...

Re: UP 2.17 Software Test print of the new Thin Wall option

I think from my understanding it is because the software has to print a Front, Back, Left, Right wall to make a watertight 3d model. I may be wrong but this is how it looks for me. Also have those pesky double walls with no infill between them which I still can't get to work OK. So if nozzle width i...

Thin Wall ?

I see there is a new function called thin wall in version 2.16 of the software. I had a cursory look on the forum but did not really find an explanation to it. Sorry if it is discussed somewhere and I missed it. But can somebody please give me a good explanation what it is for ? Going through the fo...

Re: Creating removable rafts/supports

I have the same problem and talking to some other Up experts I am told it is a software issue. I think Tiertime should investigate this and come up with a solution because I do prints for clients and at the moment 0.1mm is off the table for me. The few times I had no choice but to print 0.1mm it was...

Re: Platform Heating

I have my Up Box for about 2 weeks now as well. Just like joeb I am also having issues with getting the bed heat to go any higher than 80 odd degrees. But even worse I started getting temp spikes and had a failure of a big print when the print stopped with a bed temp error. Looking at the bed temp o...

Re: New UP Software Release 2.15

Regarding the use of two printers on one PC. I am using two Up Plus machines on the same PC. Is there a way to rename the printers somehow with d...

Re: Nozzle Overheat Alarm

Hi guys, Yes I was also of that frame of mind. I am an instrument Technician by trade and PT100's are very familiar to me. 99.9% of the time we have temp spikes or spurious temp alarms on a control loop is because of loose connections on the RTD loop. Thus that 113 odd ohm spikes up and the motherbo...
