Hi, I am having the same issue, after updating my UP! software to version 2.11 my Up Plus 2 looses USB connection. This happens randomly. Besides the USB issue i am also unable to update the ROM to the latest version "UP Plus 2(H) V6.09.ROM" the error i´m getting is "The ROM file can't be used by t...

Re: Questions From Minnesota

I tried Make a few months ago and thought it was ugly, slow, and way less intuitive than Tink, but maybe it's improved. Also, like most AutoCAD software, especially their cloud stuff, it's buggy. I tried it again a few weeks ago - it told me my browser needed to be updated. I followed the update pr...

Re: Octave grey part 2

You could try adding a pause before your print starts to cool the raft and help separation. Eg. http://www.pp3dp.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=23312&p=27963&hilit=pause+cool+raft#p27963 Also, I think you should be able to add pics to a new post rather than making a new topic. If not why not just l...

Re: Zim Does the Make Torture Test

Wow! The only printer to match this quality on the Make site is the Afinia. http://vimeo.com/76560753 I don't think that's a particularly good print anyway considering it was done at 0.05mm per layer! The Up! is capable of better finished prints at 0.2mm :) That may be so, but have you seen results...

Octave grey part 2

Continued from part 1 235 C = still there but much smaller and more of them, hard to remove from raft without causing damage. P1000841.JPG 240 C = none, impossible to remove from the raft. P1000842.JPG This next shot shows them edge-on on the 225 and 230C prints. P1000844.JPG The vent open makes the...

Octave grey part 1

I did a print yesterday for a holder for cheap nail varnish bottles from ebay and it moved during printing. I wasn't watching it so decided to find the reason. Here's the part IMG_0473.JPG I had noticed that the grey seems a bit stringy and has seen some "snots" (building trade term for lumps of mor...

Re: Glass on an Up Plus 2?

Lukeott, You are correct the UP / Up plus have square 140mm x 140mm tables. Mine is anodized aluminum. I am a keen user of Kapton tape. cheers Peter You gotta be careful with the 140x140 definition. I fell foul of it yesterday, I printed a part 125mm wide - in theory it should fit fine. It doesn't ...

Re: Filament melting point list?

Remember though that the list is relative to my machines setup, temp mod, room temp and the displayed temp numbers are not exact, I have not taken the time to measure the display versus actual extruder temp. Noted - it will give me a guide to start from with hotter/cooler. Thanks Drew for your work...

Filament melting point list?

Hi Folks - I saw a chart somewhere with lists of melting points for different colour/manufacturer's filament. I can't find it now :(

Anyone got a link to it?

Thanks

Re: OK, this is strange.

I am currently printing a head pen holder I downloaded from thingyverse and either I am really confused about what axis is which in the software compared to the printer or this thing has rotated 90 degrees on its way to the printer. I have it orientated in the UP software(1.18) with the eyes facing...

[BUG] Print head hitting support

V2.0's movement strategy is flawed. Did a long print yesterday (7.5hrs) of the Mr Moon night light. http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:53899 So far I've done the face. It fits if you rotate 45 degrees :) Software creates a raft and a support structure for the overhanging part. Unfortunately it prints ...

Re: Nozzle Height/Platform Calibration - Up Plus 2

Thanks for the explanation, that's why I can see the first couple of raft layers being different across the span of the perfboard. I'd already decided I was going to level the table using a DTI, just to be sure. Any idea why I might be getting the variation in Nozzle Height? I would have thought th...

Re: Distorted print

One thing to also watch out for is the belt belt for the platform front to back axis. I had parts that had circles and they would come out oval shaped. Calibration wouldn't fix it. I discovered the block that grips on to belt for the Front to Back axis of the platform was loose. It introduced slop ...

Re: How the Up Plus 2 compared with the Up Plus?

I've recently bought a UP Plus 2, the print quality is outstanding. I dont have a Plus so cant compare but it is far better than any print I've seen from any of the Reprap type printers. I had one small issue - the x axis belt clamp hadn't been tightened properly and came loose after a few hours. Re...

Re: where are you

Hi All - just got my Plus 2 a few days ago - I'm in St Helens in South Lancs. Overall I'm impressed - far better quality prints than most I've seen though I do have a problem with front and back faces of prints being much rougher than the sides. I'll have a look see if I can find any solutions anywh...
