Re: Recreus V3?

Not understanding. PLA prints better than ABS, especially if you want to skip the raft. Why do you think it doesn't?

Re: PETG-Carbon / GCODE / Raftless / Zero Warp

Does not want to stick to the build plate. Very inclined to block the nozzle.

They do suggest a 0.5mm steel nozzle so maybe my 0.4mm brass was not up to it.

I get the impression the bod selling it on ebay had much the same problems which is why he was unloading it.

Re: Sick UP! Plus 2

If you mess with the temperature settings then the pre-heat is a bit of a lucky dip.

I had a very sick UP because the SDROM card holder was full of gucky flux residue.

Probably in other place too, but that was the most obvious.

Sick UP! Plus 2

No heating above 50C, platform freezes in Z mid cut, bleeper thin and reedy.

Remove main board, flux wash, rinse and blow dry.

Fixed

Re: PETG-Carbon / GCODE / Raftless / Zero Warp

Looks good to me, I just ordered a kg to play with  If it does stick to glass that would be fan dabby dozie. I am currently smearing Pritt over Pyrex, baking it on then an ABS/acetone wash to make it stick. I feel a bit like an alchemist questing for the philosopher's stone. I use AliExpres...

Re: Persistent card read error (6)

I would guess flux wash residue, trapped in the socket by capillary action, eventually dried out to a waxy crust.

Re: What CAD/3D software do people use?

A few years back I bought Alibre for $99 on special offer. Currently using Geomagic 2015 but soon to be Alibre again because they have bought it back. But, I was tempted by Fusion 360 and bought their 2 years for the price of one. It looks very much like Alibre and has CAM which Alibre is still to g...

Re: Abs not sticking??? Help!!!

I had an awkward lifting corner that I accidentally fixed by switching the print to "fine".

I have no idea why this would make it stick, but stick it did.

Re: Can't get my part off the raft, melt together (studio 1.7.3.0)

Mine sticks to the support structure like ship to a blanket. UP! ABS/ABS+ Easy peel, I haven't got Easy Peel and my 1.5.1.1 claims to be up to date??? So, do we agree 1.7.3.0 is the way to go? Do I need to upgrade my CPU? How do I find out what CPU is fitted without breaking the security seal? So ma...

Re: Wrong temperature reading

I'm going to go out on a limb here and guess that the part you bought was not an actual Afinia/Up hotend but a knockoff that probably uses the wrong temperature sensor and/or heating element. There's not much you can do about that other than replace it with the right part. Good point, there were so...

Jessica, Matthew, Mckala, Alannah, Bradley, Natasha, Hollie and Kirsty have now all had their say. The printer will be collected on Wednesday and taken for inspection. It has a broken connection to the extruder element, a hole burnt in the CPU from the inside and a fault on the main PCB that stops t...

Alannah says that they will have to have the whole thing back and they will arrange for UK Mail to collect it whenever it suits me.

Does anyone have a list of what you get in an UP Plus 2 box? I would hate to fall at the last hurdle?

It is important that you include all cables / leads or power supplies etc that were supplied with the or...

Roman at UP! assures me that Maplin's can sort this out and invites me to get back to him if I have a problem.

Jessica at Maplin's is now on the case and it sounds hopeful...
