Re: Problematic filament

Doesn't someone sell one that's directly compatible with the UP? I thought it was Recreus, but can't find it on their website.

Re: Glass Bed on my UPBOX

I love a glass bed! Most people think I'm crazy for it though. :) You'll need something to help the ABS stick...like ABS Slurry or Aquanet Hairspray (my personal choice).

I've already done this on my Afinia H800 (UP BOX) and Afinia H479 (Up! Plus)

How did you do that? I've never gotten good rafts or support remove from my RepRap. :D

Re: UP Box review

Is there anything preventing me from having a glass bed (I know, I know, I'm crazy...but I love having one on my Up Plus)? Like are there metal contacts that are on the board for bed leveling that would prevent me from doing this?

I'd love to order one...but no idea how to. :D

Thanks!

Re: Warping between the raft and the piece

Besides what everyone else has said, on my Up Plus, I learned I really need to let it heat up for 20-30 minutes before printing. This allows the enclosure time to get warm and cozy and then warping is less.

Auto leveling

Anyone know how this works on the Box? Is it just like the Plus 2 or something fancier?

Re: US Timeline

Ah, nice...I had forgotten about Afinia's website (even though I own one) and was always looking to ppp3dp.com or octave.com (where I bought my Afinia).

Thanks!

US Timeline

Anyone know when the UP Box will be available for purchase in the US? Everyone seems oddly quiet on the subject.

Re: !$%!@! 3D printing

It's not so much the Afinia/UP! as it the material (ABS)...it's a pain in the ass. The only time I've been able to print parts of that size is with an enclosure...even then it can still warp sometimes.

Nothing I've ever seen suggested they're working on a larger version. I think there's a _wish_ that there was a larger version though. :)

You mean support? No, it does not do this (but would be an awesome feature). I will show you the base layer of raft though.
