Re: Printing spares?

Finally it doesn't matter; support block for x(?) smooth rods broke and local vendor has approved a return.

Shame your service doesn't match what could have been (was?) a good product/concept. Best of luck y'all.

Re: Printing spares?

Great idea, I'll scale all the models to 10% and fit them all in one print job!

If part size, layer orientation and layer height isn't important then that would be usefull information, scaling not so much I'm sorry to say.

Printing spares?

I've downloaded the .up3 files and opened them in Up Studio, but I'm a little at a loss as to which settings to use. Shelter Block.up3 for instance is loaded vertically, but the size is greater than the build volume, so it cannot be printed in that orientation? Some parts look like they might need t...

Re: Up Mini 2 ES - Bed Heating

I don't recall the exact number, but I think if covering the printer with a nice snug wool jumper and a thick down jacket over that it gets closer to 90C (or some 90% of the set 90C for my custom ABS profile). As soon as the build platform offset and resonance issues are solved I'll be adding insula...

Re: [Bug Report] Print volume misaligned along X-axis

Exact same issue on mine, it will even try to print the raft on the z height switch outside the print bed. Support told to me to print a spacer and offset the whole extruder. (just to add to the total lack of rigidity i guess) Gonna try to call up my local vendor and try to get all these issues addr...

Re: ABS prints peeling, wrong bed temperature?

I put a nice thick wollen jumper over the printer, pre-heat for an hour, that brings temperature to some 70%, once the hotend kicks in it climbs to just over 80% of the recommended 90 degrees Celsius - and it actually prints ABS well. Like, you put a sweater or something over it, can you still see ...

Room temp 20C. Thermal image after 60 minutes of pre-heating. No wonder prints warp in the far corner.

Re: Sleep option

Windows 10, Up mini 2 - sleep mode has same effect as pressing and holding the button on the side of the printer. Everything but extruder fan is turned off and the bed is moved towards the rear and dropped down.

Edit: dang, just realized original post was quite old.

Re: A way to heat the nozzle to clean off burnt plastic?

You can take the top lids off and lift out the extruder. Might have to detatch the ribbon cable where it goes through a 90 degree bend, to really move it.

Re: Bed not level

Sounds similar to mine; but atlas no options to correct it other than shiming the hardware.

BUT the software does allow for 9 point calibration and presumably software leveling.

Re: ABS prints peeling, wrong bed temperature?

Use perfboard was the suggestion I got as well when asking why the printer was unable to reach the bed temperature defined in Tiertiemes own ABS profile; and as MSTwaterbug comments, I find it warps more on the perfboard then the flexboard. I put a nice thick wollen jumper over the printer, pre-heat...

Noise level? (Mini 2)

Coming from a RepRap with v-wheels and Trinamic drivers in stealth chop I'm used to fans being the loudest components, and the Mini 2 was markedet as "very quiet"; however I cannot leave it printing over night because neighbours complain (albeit its an old and not very soundproofed building). In a r...

Re: Custom MCU-module for UP! Mini...

I really don't want to bash manufacturer because You're right about all of the above, but if they could couple the progress made by the open source community (with respect to electronics and software) with the premium hardware and quality control they would be so much better. The custom MCU solves ...

Re: Custom MCU-module for UP! Mini...

Thanks for your input! I guess I will use the Up Mini2 as is to finish modding the reprap delta and decide which one gets the aztech board I already have sitting on the desk. But I would guess it goes in the delta and then put the 8-bit board in the Up Mini2, at the speeds its operating 8-bit and r...

Re: Custom MCU-module for UP! Mini...

I've just gotten my Up Mini 2, and while the hardware works well, it was markedet as "silent" - clearly not the case when used to Trinamic drivers in stealth chop mode, and software is buggy, slow work flow and lacking in features. But this CPU module, at £78 with wifi only solves the UpStudio depen...
