Re: [FEATURE REQUEST] Option for build table lowering for high speed movements

This would be a great feature/option to add, especially for the Up Box where taller prints may happen more. It could be added easily like a box to tick ''use Z hop'' - maybe automatically the same as the set layer height? It also happens with supports that are starting mid-print for supporting smal...

Re: [FEATURE REQUEST] Option for built table lowering for high speed movements

+1 for this Do you think we are the only ones with this kind of problem ?? Or is it because no one cares about the problem being solved or not ?? Over 80 viewers and no approval except for you. I've been dealing with this problem since I started in 3D printing 7 years ago with my Up-Mini pri...

[FEATURE REQUEST] Option for build table lowering for high speed movements

As discussed in this forum topic : https://www.up3d.com/community/viewtopic.php?f=38&t=56252&sid=d16d60a948d1a10f8f0781215be93ed9 It seems that I'm not the only one that had fragile parts or supports being broken by the nozzle scratching the surface of the parts or supports. Even though the nozzle i...

Re: Parts being broken when head makes rapid movements

I'm glad to see there's a real advantage in lowering the table since it is used on other printers. As usual since there is always a down side in everything, making it optional is also required.

Re: Parts being broken when head makes rapid movements

Could TT comment on whether the bed lowers for travel movements, and if it doesn't [Feature Request] Please lower the bed by a layer for travel movements. The build table moves up and down only for the base of the raft. After those base layers, the bed is only going down after each layer completion...

Re: Parts being broken when head makes rapid movements

Sounds more like a warping issue to me. If the part is flat the head can't hit it no matter how fast it travels. I had warping issues in my 7 year experience with 3D printer and that's not what I'm talking about here. This is a phenomenon that becomes an issue specially when dealing with fragile pa...

Parts being broken when head makes rapid movements

It has happened several times now and I thought it was time to say something about it. When the printing head makes long rapids over the part being printed, sometimes more fragile parts being touched by the moving head get broken. It even happened at lease twice that the part being at an angle, when...

Re: Jammed filament on higher quality settings.

So I got my hatchbox pla today. Went with White. Printed a calibration cube to get an idea on extrusion temp. Seems pretty good at 200c. Cube came out Smooth at 0.1 and Fine. No jams either. Usually would within the first 10 minutes and the print took an hour. Running a larger print now but if it l...

Re: Jammed filament on higher quality settings.

Smaller ultrasonic cleaners usually don't have integrated heater, so water have to be preheated before filling the cleaner but it's not a big deal anyway. The cleaner must be filled at a minimum level to avoid damaging its internal system, so if you only have small things to clean like nozzles, the ...

Re: Jammed filament on higher quality settings.

Thank you, that looks great! A colleague was kind enough to throw some of my nozzles into his ultrasonic PCB cleaning bath on Friday. (Nozzles used with ABS and soaked overnight in ABS before hitting Sonic the Heat Bath) and the results were great. Cheers, Owen S I tried with plain water only but t...

Re: Jammed filament on higher quality settings.

What material is the reservoir? I've seen a few cheap ultrasonic cleaners but they look like they're made of PCABS which would make for an interesting time lapse video (if filled with acetone) but might be single use only! :P In fact it just needs to be a liquid, usually water. It makes use of the ...

Re: Jammed filament on higher quality settings.

I do heat gently and use a brush to remove the excess plastic. I've got those little drillbits for the hole as well. They come out clean after I've done it and have had any issues I can attribute to it so far. Might try the acetone soak though to be safe. Your cleaning process seems ok to me since ...

Re: Jammed filament on higher quality settings.

Quick question, how are you cleaning your nozzles? I assume PLA? I've been putting mine over the cooker on my oven and burning everything out...not sure how healthy that is but so far so good. It's probably not healthy at all because it certainly leaves a coat of burned material which is usually th...

Re: Jammed filament on higher quality settings.

I've had a good look around and can't seem to find any stores that stock a 0.2mm nozzle in the 8mm variety. They have an M6 internal thread, so I hit ebay and found 2 for 10 bucks including shipping. Cheap brass but I'd be interested to see how they print so I ordered them. worst case I waste 10 bu...

Re: Jammed filament on higher quality settings.

I haven't seen any other nozzle sizes but the 0.4. I've got about a few of them. Just ordered some more. I got the Microswiss ones as well in case it was a brass thing...but still issues. I'm just not sure what is wrong anymore. I'll see what the hatchbox does. I haven't seen any other nozzle sizes...

Re: Jammed filament on higher quality settings.

I ordered a roll of hatchbox off amazon. I'll run that as 0.1 and fine to see if I get the same issues. I think I may have resolved any tension issues. I noticed that it was doing a sharp angle turn into the guide system due to where the spool was located. Just one thing you didn't mention and I di...

Re: Jammed filament on higher quality settings.

I mostly order from Amazon.ca where Hatchbox was for a time largely available at good prices, but by this time AMZ3D is available at reasonable price. It seems that different brands come and go. AMZ3D spools don't fit in the printer so I use a small spool rack that I have printed. Based on my experi...

Re: Jammed filament on higher quality settings.

I have an UpBox+ and I have made many +50h prints in 0.1mm from fine to turbo speed and never jammed. All those prints were made with Hatchbox filaments and some with AMZ3D filaments. With some brands, I can't even print in 0.2mm at all without jamming. So it has to do with diameter tolerance (0.05m...
