[Feature Request] UP Mini2 PLA extruder

With the release of the UP300 extruders that are backwards compatible with the UP BOX+, enabling even more 3rd party material compatibility and capabilities, I thought it'd b worth inquiring about an UP Mini2/ Mini2 ES PLA extruder as well. Since the differences are largely between the new hotend th...

PLA extruder for UP BOX+

So, after a great deal of testing with the new PLA extruders for the UP300/ UP BOX+, I figured I could share our experiences with them. The new PLA extruders differ from the ABS extruders by having more, and thinner fins of the black heatsink that cools the cold zone of the throat tube, and in combi...

Re: UPBOX printer won't print in front corner

Also, since you've stated that the printer fails to extrude at the front left corner, the culprit may likely be the hard white ribbon cable that goes from the back of the printer to the toolhead mount. When the printhead moves to the front left corner, this is where that FFC ribbon cable can be flex...

Re: Anyone printing TPU with the new extruder on an UpBox?

We've done some testing with the new TPU extruder, using different TPU/ TPE materials and tried some nylon filament as well. Our best results so far with the exruder, actually were achieved using a custom material profile, printing with Inland TPE filament, 0.25 layer height (finest allowable with t...

Re: [Feature Request] Infill modification settings

I'm seconding the request for an infill percentage with either more options or a slider to select a very specific infill percentage. The 20% to 65% is a huge jump, then again to the 80% doesn't give the options needed. Some jobs have requests for s specific percentage that requires the printer opera...

Re: [feature request] Show temperatures while printing

You can see the print temperature setting for a given material by choosing "Customized" in the material selection box in the Maintence menu. Here you can also set temperatures for other 3rd party materials that you'd like to experiment with. When loading or unloading a filament from the printer, the...

Re: [Feature Request] Shell or wall thickness

I'm seconding the request for shell/ perimeter wall thickness setting. Some model applications require a specific wall thickness, that cannot be set in UP Studio. Please add a 0.4mm - 2.0mm all thickness drop down menu or something similar.

Re: [feature request] slow print for tpu

Just my 2 cents regarding flexible filament through an UP printer in our experiences,... at least until UP Studio is updated with a setting to slow down the print speed MUCH more, to be compatible with most TPU materials. For those interested in working with flexible filament with the UP printers, b...

Re: 3rd Party Filament?

I've found that after working with colorFabb HT this week, that it surprisingly printed well just using the default ABS setting in the UP BOX+. (Not terribly surprising since the rated temperature range is 250c-280c, and bed temp of 110c). More specifics on our test prints so far, are with settings ...

Re: 3rd Party Filament?

I wanted to take a moment to follow up regarding a couple more 3rd party filament types that we've been working with on our UP printers. Though we've tested different ABS, and PLA materials, we've mostly opted to only utilize the UPFila for these material types as it typically performs excellently f...

Re: UP Studio crashing on Windows and Mac when connecting to UP Box or UP Box+ printers.

As an update, I've verified that UP Studio 1.6 on to our Mac OSX system is also doing exactly the same as our customer has mentioned with his Mac, with the immediate crashing upon connection to his UP Box+. Differently than on our Win10 systems with 1.4.3 that would allow connection to the UP Mini a...

UP Studio crashing on Windows and Mac when connecting to UP Box or UP Box+ printers.

As of last night (April 28th 2017), and without any changes to software or hardware having been applied at all, our UP Studio software began crashing upon attempting to connect to either an UP Box or UP Box+ printers. When attempting to connect to an UP Mini or UP Plus2, there's no issues at all, bu...

Re: UP studio 1.5

Big thumbs up to the software guys; 1.5.1.1 has made a world difference on release. I can now run ABS+ and actually release the model from the raft & support. On v1.4 I basically had to chisel it out, might as well have started with a block of wood to chisel out my desired part, not 3D printer. Ver...

I thought I'd chime in with our results since the newest update as well. We're using UP Studio 1.5.1.1 on Windows machines, but we've got (5) different UP models that we use daily. (We're also a reseller so we've got one of each model: UP Mini, UP Plus2, UP Mini2, UP Box, and UP Box+) The legacy sys...

Re: 3rd Party Filament?

I think there's a list that's starting to be compiled somewhere on the forum already, but as far as 3rd party filaments go, most 3rd party PLA won't work very well as they'll eventually jam. We've had good luck with a variety of 3rd party ABS, ASA, Nylon, nGen, and PETG with our different UP printer...

Re: Up MIni 2 repeated pauses during all prints

Here are a few links to YouTube video clips of a 20mm cube that I ran to show this issue. Clip 1 it pauses on the raft, clip 2 still among the first few parts layers and the 3rd one I captured after uploading the first 2 clips. This issue was occurring on nearly every layer and can be seen as these ...

Re: Up MIni 2 repeated pauses during all prints

After closely watching each print, and noticing that my ABS prints came out without the ugly surfaces as mentioned in my original post, I see that this issue only seems to present itself with the PLA calculations. At some point in nearly every single layer of PLA, the printer stops all motion for ab...
