Re: Head off alignment at init
When the machine initialises, it homes itself against 3 micro switches - one for each axis. If it is not centred after homing, then you need to look at the switches. Generally people either bend the arm of the switch (very gently so it doesn't snap!) or add a piece of plastic to the part that contac...

Re: Extruder LED Lights Never Turn On
Not sure about your "as intended" operation, as is mine is different: The LED is OFF unless explicitly turned on - it does not turn on with the machine. The LED is switched on and off by a SLOW double tap to the on button. The LED remain ON until it is turned off or the machine is shut down - it doe...

Re: MADDENING problem with UP!Mini
Sounds like the print bed may be out of level. Unfortunately, the mini has very limited options for correcting it (mainly just uses software correction). I did create a mod to make the bed adjustable - you can find details in the "Look at my mod" section if you're interested. Not sure why the print ...

Re: How to clean Up Mini cache
Maybe try removing the internal SD card from the machine (you will need to remove the rear cover) and try formating it in a PC in case it is corrupt.

Re: Leveling and the perf board
You can find a download link to the manual here: http://up3d-dev.github.io/downloads/docs/UP!-mini-User-Manual-V1.0.rar Take a look in the manual for the procedure. Basically, you set the nozzle height by placing a folded piece of standard copy paper (~0.2mm) bewteen the nozzle and board. The raft s...

Re: Beeping volume
Try this:
http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:31957
It reduces the volume significantly. It was the first mod done to my machine.

Re: Up Mini Adjustable Bed mod for Raftless Printing
Hi Grant, Nice to see someone other than me could make use of this :) Regarding heatbed hole alignment, I'm guessing you're right - there may be more than one version of the hole postions for the heatbed :/ I modelled it on mine and so far you're the only one I know that has tried it, so without mor...

Re: Up 2.18 - forget a part to print
@Woodlake: Thank you, this option is direct in front of my eyes but I've not seen them... No problem - it's easy to overlook. I just wish it was "sticky", instead it has to be selected each time you print. it's added recently so probably you are just not expecting it so missed it :D I believe the o...

Re: Up 2.18 - forget a part to print
The walls are too thin and get ignored.
Either increase the wall thickness or turn on the "thin walls" options.

Re: Perf board warping
I did it for printing ABS. It has PEI laminated to the top of the glass/aluminium (but you could also use kapton tape/hairspray/abs juice ect instead if you wanted). Re: Perf board warping
Lol - no worries. I don't think I've heard of anyone snapping one before - good effort! I only had two when I bought mine (2nd hand) - but can't say I've seen any warping issues. Tbh, now that I have changed the bed over to glass/aluminium for raftless printing, I can't see myself using them much fr...

Re: Perf board warping
Can you turn the board upside down to minimise the warp?
You should have received 3 with the printer - are all 3 warped?

Re: Up Mini Adjustable Bed mod for Raftless Printing
I used borosilicate glass on my old 35x35cm printer and was not smart enough to give it wiggle room, there was ~1mm breathing room on all 4 sides but was clamped with aluminium brackets so "hard mount", somewhere around 90C it bent one of the holders and then shattered .. so more then 2mm in length...

Re: Up Mini Adjustable Bed mod for Raftless Printing
I am currently using 0.03" PEI laminated to 3mm borosilicate glass have to ask, why glass under PEI? I do get ppl that want smooth finish go with glass and hair spray but under PEI?! I don't get the idea? It's thick, it expands/contracts with heat "a lot" (even borosilicate), it's not readily avail...

Re: Up Mini Adjustable Bed mod for Raftless Printing
Thanks Jason, I hope so! The non level bed was one if its biggest issues (I swapped out he thermistor for an 80deg one - it's other main problem).Tiertime-Jason wrote:This mod could save majority of the scrapped UP mini. Good work!
I love my mini. For my purposes now that the bed is adjustable, it's close to perfect.

Up Mini Adjustable Bed mod for Raftless Printing
After reading about using PEI for raftless printing, I wanted to give it try on my Mini. I just needed to figure out a way to make the bed adjustable for it to work. Apart from replacing or heavily modifying the stock platform, I don't recall seeing any mods that would allow the Up Mini to do this. ...
