Re: Any interest in hardened nozzles (Group Buy?)

Hello Owen, you are right I still use an old mini with a different nozzle. Great idea though, the issue with such an adapter would be the heat transportation... Micro Swiss has probably the right nozzle for you here: https://store.micro-swiss.com/products/plated-wear-resistant-nozzle-for-up-box Chee...

Re: Any interest in hardened nozzles (Group Buy?)

Hello Owen, I am using 3rd party nozzles on the mini for quite some time. The original nozzles are wearing quickly when using metal or carbon filaments. With a special hardened and coated nozzle I am printing many kg without any nozzle wear. See here: https://store.micro-swiss.com/collections/afinia...

Re: Druckkopf durchgeschleift .. was nun?

Das Zahnrad müsste sich doch lösen lassen, ggf. etwas heiss machen, dann einen Ersatz-Stepper ausfindig machen.
Alternativ bei TT oder Distributor nach Ersatz fragen.

Re: UPStudio G-code Tutorial

The biggest issue is the lack of layer preview. Please see here https://github.com/kscheff/UP3D I am using S3D to preview the UP printing by doing the following: - The older UP Software under Windows allows to capture the USB data via FixUp3D DLL - The output USB capture could be converted to stand...

Re: G-Code transcoder part 3 (printing objects)

So there is a new version of the transcoder available. It allows for tuning the process parameters for acceleration, speed and junction deviation. This allows you to make really smooth prints without loosing time :ugeek: https://github.com/UP3D-gcode/UP3D/releases I have also created GUI frontend fo...

Re: Custom MCU-module for UP! Mini...

There is a new version of the transcoder which allows to tune acceleration and speed settings easily. This allows for e.g. very smooth fine printing, but still accelerates to higher speed when long lines are printed. So you actually don't loose time when you want to have a fine print. See here: http...

Re: Console/MDI Input on Up! Mini

I am using Simplify3D as well and there were still some glitches in the transcoder. Please see update here https://github.com/UP3D-gcode/UP3D/releases As for the G-Codes for Extrude and Withdraw, its pretty easy: withdraw.gcode ; withdraw script for UP ; ; this file heats op the nozzle to 220°C ; an...

Re: Custom MCU-module for UP! Mini...

Early discussions on this thread were mostly about the idea to use a custom MCU in order to get fine grade settings and other slicers to work with the UP. Therefore I wanted to note here, that there is a transcoder project in order to use standard G-Code with the UP series of printers. With this lit...

Re: G-Code transcoder part 3 (printing objects)

I am not sure about the original developer/maintainer of the transcoder, but it is silent for some at his channel. So I created a new github repository for further improvements https://github.com/UP3D-gcode/UP3D Recently I have discovered that the 0.7.0 version still has issues with the accuracy, e....

Re: Holz-Filament im UP mini?

Re: stainless steel nozzles

I use one from Micro-Swiss. This nozzle has a brass core and is hard plated with TwinClad XT: https://store.micro-swiss.com/collections/afinia-h479-h480-up-plus-2/products/plated-wear-resistant-nozzle-for-afinia-h479-h480-up-plus-2-zortrax-m200 From the reading it appears that the Zortrax M200 uses ...

Re: G-Code transcoder part 3 (printing objects)

In order to integrate the up3dtranscoder and upload in a workflow, I wrapped the AppleScript in a app. You can use the app stand-alone by just choosing a G-code file or drag & drop a G-code file to it. The setup integrates also nicely in Slic3er, so when you save the G-code it automatically transcod...

Re: G-Code transcoder part 3 (printing objects)

I am using the transcoder under OS X together with Slic3er with very good results. In order to make the transcoding automatically I have created a script which can be plugged directly into the Slic3er. The script launches automatically the transcoders, applies an adjustable nozzle height and uploads...

Re: Calculator For Temp Mods

The previous table says 260 degrees with 0 ohms (unmodified) and 230 degrees with 11 Ohms. This is a difference of 30 degrees. The additional resistor only generates an offset to a given set point. In your case the set point is 270 degrees, so the formula is 270 - 30 = 240. The thread is already pre...

Re: G-Code transcoder part 3 (printing objects)

In case you want to print PLA with Slic3r you might want to switch off the heated bed. I like to print the first layer with the heater on for better adhesion, for all consecutive layers it should be off. Slic3r offers you to set different temperatures for layer 1 and all other layers. However if you...

Re: G-Code transcoder part 3 (printing objects)

I am using Slic3r 1.2.9 to generate the G-Code and compared the result to the original Up Slicer. Here are the major settings for my Object: Up Settings: 0.3mm Layer, Normal Speed, no-raft Slic3r: 0.3mm Layer, 80 mm/s Perimeter, 25% Small Perimeters, 50% External Perimeters, 80 mm/s Infill, Solid In...

Re: G-Code transcoder part 3 (printing objects)

Thanks Maik die the explanation. I tried to use 126.0 even if this would cause a nozzle crash, but no change in nozzle height. upshell still reports 124.00 as height. I verified that I really use this new value by modifying the source to include nozzle height as a double driven from argv[4] command ...

Re: G-Code transcoder part 3 (printing objects)

Looks like that the up3dtranscode.c file in the project has a fixed height setting: https://github.com/MaikStohn/UP3D/blob/master/UP3DTRANSCODE/up3dtranscode.c //gcode parsing pass 2 (write output) rewind( fgcode ); if( !umcwriter_init( argv[2], 123.45, print_time ) ) return -2; But I am not sure ho...
