Re: Print quality of the new colored ABS?

Thanks!
It looks like it behaves pretty well :) Do you clean out the extruders before changing color or does the previous color disappear pretty quick after changing?

Print quality of the new colored ABS?

Has anyone tried the (for me) new color ABS from PP3DP? It's probably as good as the white but has anyone had chance to try it yet?
Cheers!

zombieprints?

Hi folks, I just had a weird experience today... I've had a few prints where it has started printed again automatically after one print was just finished. Today I sat next to the printer for the whole print and soldering some stuff and didn't notice it printed my last print before this (about 1½ wee...

Hey Marcus, check these out:

the "Position, Squeeze, and Tug" works ok, it's pretty easy with a vise.

well that can be both good and negative :)
I like IRC because it's more "realtime", I think this forum is as good as google groups? And there already is a UP! google group?

Re: UP! software V1.15 and Mac 1.2

Virtox, that has happened to me too 2-3 times. After finished prints it just starts automatically again and bump into the just printed things. I´m on the old hardware and running 1.14. Have you found any solution yet? I think it started after I updated the ROM half a year ago..but not sure.

Re: Printing with minimal "spaghetti" from support material?

I'm not sure if I understand your problem. But the contact with the support will make the surface different from where it doesn't have contact. But "spaghetti" sounds like you got no surface layers at all? and that it is on one particular model? Well, not easy without am photo :)

Re: Secure ABS Disposal?

I didn't realize it was security that were the main point. Maybe you should invest in a plastic grinder?

Re: Printing with minimal "spaghetti" from support material?

I think it's pretty inevitable since you have contact with the support. For smooth and glossy I polish with acetone and cloth.

Re: Secure ABS Disposal?

Well, solving ABS in acetone doesn't solve anything (except the ABS hah :) ), it just wastes a lot of energy. The ABS is still there and alot of acetone. I don't know where you're located but here (Sweden) I just take a box of my discarded prints and rafts and leave it to the communal recycling cent...

round holes not round?

Hi! My circular things have been getting worse lately, anyone has an idea what it can be? the smaller the holes are the worse they are. if I print a 10mm hole it gets two small flat sides... I´m running the old firmware/board with UP! v1.12 I would guess something is slipping or loose in the x or y ...

Re: Platform heater failed--any workarounds while I wait for

Check the connection of the heater element and the temp probe. Mine did come loose once. if it's loose, solder doesn't work well, try a crimp shell over it if you have that possibility.

Re: Printing Problems

What happens if you just press "extrude" in the maintenance window? maybe help it feed the filament if the extruder stepper is running?

Re: Nozzle

Sorry I misunderstood you José, my nozzle is over a year old so far and it's been completely black from time to time. To clean it off i put it in a little film container with acetone over the night and then scrub it clean with a toothbrush. After that it looks like new.
