Re: Up! Mini 2 + Duet electronics! (Linear rails and real hotbed!)

the temp precision of the heated element is overrated. precisely controlling temperature of the plastic on the mouth of the nozzle, that would maybe produce better results (tbh I tried, I made a TC on the tip of the nozzle by electrowelding wire to the tip, and no difference even with +-0.1C on the ...

Re: Up! Mini 2 + Duet electronics! (Linear rails and real hotbed!)

I decided to see what was possible with as little modifications to the original parts as possible. Straight up replacing a part is easy to reverse and in the event of problems the printer could be put back into stock configuration with ease for warranty repairs despite the rather intrusive upgrade....

Re: Up! Mini 2 + Duet electronics! (Linear rails and real hotbed!)

For me it was Smoothieboard or Duet - and the Duet community just seems to be in the open source spirit and the Smoothieboard borderline arogant. :D :D :D heard this so many times ... on the other hand, I prefer the smoothie attitude that they don't allow crap into their code and comparing smoothie...

what happened to support generation?!

what happened with support generation? on the old UP! software the generated support was super easy to remove? I now returned to UPStudio to print some spare parts for upplus2 on my mini2 and print generated by UPStudio is terrible, it's order of magnitude worse then what old UP! software did !?!?! ...

Re: nozzle size

I have other printers for that, upplus2 converted to smoothieware and few others ... this mini2 I wanted to use with upstudio (if not else then to print few spare parts that are in up3 format :D ) ... I just wanted to use it with .2 nozzle but who cares, .4 will have to do

nozzle size

I tried latest windows x64, latest windows beta x64 (older then latest stable ?!?!), I tried latest OSX/MACOS upstudio .. none of them allow me to change nozzle from 0.4mm to something else (0.2mm)... this is weird since I have original 0.2mm TT nozzle mounted to the original TT extruder on the orig...

Re: ip address?

I intentionally split the wifi from wired networks and no plans to join them ever :D ... adding proxy .. well possible but stupid .. if they can use proxy they use simple tcpip to talk to printer so the only issue is discovery - lemme enter IP address so there's no need to discover anything :D

Re: mini 2 heater mod

those breakers are nice but I don't like to advise ppl that don't know how to make super simple pcb and solder super simple components (if it was 0.5mm pitch maybe but with 1mm pitch that is really not a problem for anyone that know how to use soldering iron) to mess up with power stuff and this is ...

Re: mini 2 heater mod

SWINM have experienced numerous internal plastic parts failing after increasing the ambient temp to help the bed reach 80C. we'll see .. easy to replace everything if need be :D ... anyhow, again, I'm not increasing anything but speed bed gets to 90C so ambient is actually cooler then without this ...

Re: mini 2 heater mod

I am not changing the temperature!! the mini2 is controlling the temp, just like without mod, the only difference is that now it heats up faster, but the temp is still exactly the same as it used to be. Ignore the 135C TO202 that's just a mechanical fuse if something goes wrong (pt100 dies, cable sn...

ip address?

Is there a way I can give upstudio IP address of my printer (mini2) ? attm from what I see it searches for the printers in lan but I have 2 lan's here (accessible normally trough gateway) so I see from 10.1.1.0/24 network 10.1.2.0/24 trough 10.1.1.254 and 10.1.2.254 respectively but it's not lan and...
