Replacement heated bed.

The heated bed on my Mini 1 has fried. Hopefully the motherboard is OK. I have tried to get a replacement from Tiertime but they are out of stock, if indeed they ever restock given the age of this printer now. Does anyone know where I can get a replacement in the UK or Europe. I found a place in Aus...

Re: Heating element and thermistor plug wiring

The red are the heater wires. The blue, thermistor.

Re: Failed Heat Bed mod.

Thanks for the reply. I put everything back as it was before your response. Still doesn't heat up. So I attempted to use just PLA and an acrylic build plate. Now the print stops after the first couple of layers. It seems to do it after I close the print preview box.

Re: Failed Heat Bed mod.

I snipped one leg of the 60c thermostat from the bed and soldered the centre pole of the switch there. I had one leg of the thermostats joined at the same point . The other legs were soldered to the end poles of the switch. If this makes any sense.

Failed Heat Bed mod.

I wired up a 90c thermostat in parallel with the 60c one but added a sliding switch so I could use one thermostat or the other. Pre heated the bed. Nothing. Checked my wiring and cable connection all seemed good. Still nothing. Checked the thermostats for open circuit. All good. Decided to put it ba...

Re: Thermistor.

I think it may be a case of trying a couple of differently manufactured 100k thermistors and seeing which is the most accurate and stable. PT100s are made from platinum and give the most consistent readings over time and temperature.

Re: Thermistor.

Thank you stormychel but the PT100s being sold on their are too wide. The heater block will only take a thermistor that is 2.5mm wide (if my calipers are to be believed.). I cannot find one that small. I was hoping I could use any 100K thermistor in its place. The Mini's firmware may be specific in ...

Re: Thermistor.

Many thanks for the quick reply but I am after a thermistor not a thermostat.
The thermistor is placed in the heater block to read the heater/nozzle temperature.

Thermistor.

I am having trouble sourcing a thermistor for my Mini. Could I just use any 100K thermistor? Or does anyone know where I can but the right sized PT100?

That is exactly what I wanted! Thank you so much for pointing me in the right direction. I did look at all the extruder posts and a few others in the hope of finding such a thing. I am that much closer to getting my Mini to work now!

Wanted. Extruder head PCB or diagram to make one.

The bit where the rainbow ribbon cable plugs into or a circuit diagram to make one. I have emailed TierTime a couple of times to see if I could buy one but they never replied.
