Re: UP3D-Studio compatible wireless upgrade for all old UP printer (for cheap)

Great to hear that.

As soon as the first real WiFi enabled printer is released by Tiertime we can stabilize the interface and get rid of the errors. The work right now is just based and guessing...

Re: Upgrade the old UP to WIFI enabled ?

Hi, I really would like to upgrade to WiFi it just depends on the price. I hope price can be just material cost + some handling fee like: UP-CPU: LM3S5737 8 $ WiFi: ESP8266 3 $ All passive components: Led/Cap/Res: 1 $ PCB+PCBA: 1 $ Test+Firmware flashing: 1 $ --- Total: 14 $ +100% margin = 28 $ + sh...

Re: Up Studio

Hi, Just some comments to the 3 versions of UPStudio-BETA-0.0.0.10: MAC: The (damaged app / invalid signature) problem comes from the fact that UP Studio is writing a log file in it's own app directory which immediately will invalidate the developers signature of the program. ==> Never write or modi...

Re: uptodate Firmware/ROM?

Hello, the UP ROM does not contain any firmware. It contains: * IO port configuration (which cable goes to which motor/sensor/heater/...) * Parameter sets 0.2mm / 0.25mm / 0.3mm ... * ROM-Programs (e.g. the initialize program with the "wonderful" beep beep beep) So the only advantage of a new "ROM" ...

Re: WORKING: SOFTWARE TEMP MOD - ADJUSTABLE LAYER HEIGHTS !

Hello, FixUp3D is not developed anymore. Meanwhile I created a G-Code transcoder which will let you use any Slicer (e.g. Slic3r, Cura, Simplify3D, ...). It already has support for Mini / Classic / Plus / Box. Check it out here: https://github.com/MaikStohn/UP3D Small How-To here: https://www.stohn.d...

Re: G-Code transcoder part 3 (printing objects)

Hello, all recent versions of up3dtranscode (e.g. latest is v0.3.0) do have an option for nozzle height. Please check out the latest version here: https://github.com/MaikStohn/UP3D (In the text you see "Download: latest". Click on "latest" to find precompiled binaries.) now usage of up3dtranscode is...

Re: UP3D-Studio compatible wireless upgrade for all old UP printer (for cheap)

Hi,

Everything I make is available on github: http://github.com/MaikStohn/UP3D

Everybody is invited to participate / assist with development. Since the complete project is in a very early stage right now, there are no "one click easy to install" solutions.

Re: G-Code transcoder part 3 (printing objects)

Many of the issues been fixed already. Please have a look at the github repository: https://www.github.com/MaikStohn/UP3D There you always can find the latest release version. In case of any bugs, I prefer to get a "issue" reported on github. This helps to keep track of all reported problems. Thanks...

Just tested it... and of course it works: http://stohn.de/3d/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/upiosapp_superwifi.jpg BTW: Any notes or documentation from Tiertime regarding the UDP discover / connect / response packets would be very helpful in order to make it work perfect. Nevermind. Found it. The MAC ve...

UP3D-Studio compatible wireless upgrade for all old UP printer (for cheap)

Hi, One thing always annoyed me on my UP mini. The wired USB connection to send the 3D data to the printer. Then something happened which inspired me to create a cheap ($10) and easy WiFi upgrade for my UP mini which is fully compatible with the new UP-Studio software from Tiertime. Full story here:...

Re: G-Code transcoder part 3 (printing objects)

What exactly is not working?

Exact error message or screen shot please.

I just tested it (Windows 7 32bit, Windows 7 64bit, Windows 10 64bit) and it works ok.

Re: G-Code transcoder part 3 (printing objects)

I just pushed an update to the repository.

It contains the option to set nozzle height as additional parameter in up3dtranscode and added a coordinate system translation so objects just sliced with slic3r or simplify3d standard settings will not be mirrored anymore.

Re: Plattform Hitze

Re: G-Code transcoder part 3 (printing objects)

@3DSTB: The theoretical resolution is 854 steps/mm (UpMini) for all axes (X/Y/Z/E) which equals to 0.0017 mm accuracy. However the stepper driver ICs are using 128 micro stepping which means it does not have this accuracy for positioning. A stepper motor can reliable position full and half steps onl...

Re: G-Code transcoder part 3 (printing objects)

Hi, the compiled Windows binary should work on any windows version. I tested it on 32Bit and 64Bit Windows 7. Also just tested on fresh installation with Windows10 64Bit and it works fine. To compile it yourself, just use the bash script "make.sh". It detects the host and uses correct compiler argum...

Re: How fast can the UP Mini print in mm/s

I converted the UP calculated machine code back to gcode and measured the speeds: FINE mode is about 20/30/40 mm/sec (perimeters/infill/support) NORMAL mode is about 40/50/60 mm/sec FAST mode is about 50/60/60 mm/sec I think the suggestion from the material manufacturer is not to print faster than 5...

Re: G-Code transcoder part 3 (printing objects)

@Kai, yes this is the right place to change the nozzle height. It looks like the UP software adds another 0.2 to the stored nozzle height when it calculates the print height. Or maybe the better (more precise) homing procedure from up3dtranscode gives different start value. The translation to 124.00...
