Re: Extruder stepper getting extremely hot

Is that after prolonged use or happening fast?
One or two fans for the motor will help, but maybe your driver is malfunctioning / "latching up".
Otherwise it prints fine?

Re: What do you do using 3D printer?

designing everything for touch and <10" viewport is the trend that makes me sick Yeah 100% true! Remember the 90s/early 2000s when you combed through the whole web all night to find a browser-detection that could handle that new sub-version of IE because your menu was not showing? You made it work ...

Re: what's your ideal app?

agreed. but app with quite easy functions might be good for kids to experience 3D and be attracted to learn 3D. I really don't see how kids "learn" ANYTHING with tablets and cellphones, other than consuming premade content and developing an addiction for pay-to-play games. Teach them how a file-bro...

Re: what's your ideal app?

Mobile makes no sense for a beginner-level printer.
Just give the printer the option for a web-end where I can upload STLs and set some parameters if any.

Re: Question regarding infill %

Well I guess it as close to 100% as the 0.4mm nozzle can get.
A higher feed-rate leads to the outer contour being pushed out of shape.
At least with the UP! slicer...

Filament-recommendations for epoxy-casting

Hi! Does anyone have some experience with casting epoxy (and also PUR) 2-component resins? I have Polypropylene (PP) cups, those remove perfectly after casting since PP is a low surface-tension material. As there is not that much PP filament on the market I was wondering if it can be substituted wit...

Re: UP! mini ROM

When testing my Mini with the Gcode-translator showed that I have an older FW - but it never asked for a new one. It seems that new FW files are only sent out by tiertime on request. I guess they have to somehow compile it with the serialnumber of the CPU or something. If you printer works, do not w...

Re: WORKING: SOFTWARE TEMP MOD - ADJUSTABLE LAYER HEIGHTS !

Is the only solution for a Mac parallels for the mod?? Will it run fine on that from someone's personal experience or should I buy sown thing like the octave temp gauge? Also is there a mod to change the temp of the heated bed? Is this included in the mod? I read on here that using some oil on the ...

Re: Any experience with PET, PETG, HIPS, etc.?

OK I just got the clear Sainsmart flexible TPU. First print @ 220°C is doing just fine. No oiling, no CLACK!, it just prints! I had some filaflex before - which is way softer though - and did not succeed at all. You have to lower the print-speed, then it prints like a charm! Here are my setting. Not...

Not pretty, yet effective! ;-)

Pink one is the oiler, purple one is the dry sponge for excess oil.

All on the edge of my filament-box.

You could bypass the relay that controls the bed.
The thermoswitch will still behave as usual, so it is safe.
