Up Studio update does not install

Hi I lost USB connection on one computer so I try another computer. But it will not install because "A file that is required cannot be installed because the cabinet file C:\ documents and settings\ administrator/ application data\ Being Tiertime Corporation \UpStudio 2.2.61.62\ install\ disk1.cab ha...

temp and nozzle height are wrong

OK, I sorted it out: something is wrong with my up+2. First: The nozzle height detect finds a height of 136.73. If I leave that, the nozzle crashed into the the perfboard, dragging violently over it during the first layers. At a setting of 136mm I get normal first layer, with very good adhesion. I u...

Re: support removal

@ricks01 Thanks for your help. I will try with lowering temp setting. Meanwhile I cannot attach a .stl here on the new forum! I get a message that I have an Invalid file extension. I think the webmaster has to tweak the forum settings.

support removal

Hi folks, Maarten here from Amsterdam, and running into problems with support removal. I really have to chisel it off! There is a flat surface facing down (8cm^2), and the design does not allow another print orientation. Using SC-09 original up white ABS filament. I put in a new printboard, leveled ...

Re: Creating removable rafts/supports

I have the same problem with my Up+2 .Using oem filament. Strangely, the problem only occurs with black abs filament, not white. Testing green now, but I still think it is ridiculous. I bought the up especially for the reason of having easily removable supports. Now I break by objects when I try to ...

Re: Heat block repair

I finds the tiertime replacement parts very expensive. These heating elements typically cost 25 dollar (search "cartridge heater"). My next printer will be open source.

Heat block repair

Yesterday, halfway a 7-hour print, I had a "extruder too cold" message. Indeed, it was only 76C. On inspection, one of the cables right near the heater block was broken. The end look all crumbly and black. I cleaned it with a brush and was left with this: broken wires.jpg . So I made a small tube ID...

Re: UP 2.17 Software

I'm having an issue with 2.17: ever since I use it I get a message "please show the error msg 20150630". No idea what it means. After that I must initialise again before the next print. Anybody knows what this means?

Re: New desktop 3D printer from Tiertime

Hmm, good point. Perhaps a Box with 2 extruders? That would be awesome!
woofy wrote:But the box is listed on page 2 at 1600 pounds
so, what is coming along at 2000 pounds.

I guess we just have to wait and see :)

Re: New desktop 3D printer from Tiertime

Hey Woofy It just adds up.. We have been waiting for the Box to hit the market for quite some time now, and iMakr has been announcing their "printer that just prints" for a while, I know of no super-reliable printer about to hit the market about now... oh and a saw somewhere (I think a French retail...

Re: New desktop 3D printer from Tiertime

Well, the iMakr store in London announces unveiling "the printer that just prints" . And I have a strong suspicion that Tiertime has something to do with this ;-) April 9th will be the date.

nozzle height problem solved

Hi folks I had this nozzel height detect problem. After a misprint I checked nozzle height again, and my Up plus 2 did all the moves, but no dialog box with the nozzle height value. Oh well, I though, must have missed it. Next print also went wrong. On a closer look, some plastic had gotten stuck on...

Re: Wish List

I agree with all, and would like to add:
- move on/ off switch to front.
- allow standalone printing: so for a big print job I can turn off the computer, let the printer print and it will switch itself off when done.
- wifi/ bluetooth would be nice
that was it, thanks.

Re: Some print setting advise for UP Plus2

Theoretically, all up plus 2 printers are the same. But ther are not. I had my extruder burnt and imakr sent me a new one. It works OK, but the support is more difficult to remove than before, even using the same official pp3dp white abs. I think your and mine printers run a little hotten then they ...

support still difficult to remove

Well I am printing again, but still have great difficulty removing support material. Yesterday I broke off part of a print (printed solid) trying to get off support. Using a sturdy knife. With fan door open it is only a very little bit better. Same filament as before. One of the reasons I bought the...

Re: support removal and nozzle temperature

mb20music, thanks so much, that was it. As I had some trouble earlier with prints detaching from the bed, I had gotting into the habit of reducing the distance between nozzle and bed. This really pushed the plastic into the perfboard. But it also hindered flow in the extruder. I am printing again :-D

air print, was:Re: support removal and nozzle temperature

I have the door closed-as I had before. Also, thermistors usually have a tolerance around 1%, so that should be precise enough for filament. Unfortunately, I cannot test the difference now, as the printer failed to print more than the snot trail all day. Head moved around, but no extrusion. I hit ex...

support removal and nozzle temperature

I was so happy my printer worked again! The people at iMakr in Londan swiftly send me a new nozzle heater assembly after establishing mine was broken. So far so good.. But now I find it very difficult to remove support material. I used to be able to just snap it ff, now I have to use a sturdy knife ...

Re: print does not start

And here is the final close of this story: the nozzle ended up not heating at all, and I installed a new one and everything is fine again. I bought my up! plus2 at iMakr store and they were very helpful in diagnosing the problem and very quick to send a replacement part.
