UP Box + - motors stopped working

Hi everyone!! I have a new issue with Up Box +. It worked perfectly fine for more than one year. Yesterday, after I opened it and tried to initialize it, the printer can't pass initialization process. It beeps, nothing is moving (platform, axes etc) and after an ugly sound starts. This is the video ...

Re: "Nozzle too hot" error - Up Box+

This reminds me of my first Up Box that I bought about 3 years ago. It was a disaster. Tiertime changed my printer after 8 months of struggles. Among other problems, the printer was giving this error and aborting midprint. That problem was caused by the extruder block assembly. Now I have 2 Up Box. ...

Re: How noisy is the Up Box Plus?

It's ok. No neighbors complaining about it. And I have 2 :D
A lower resolution / faster print makes it a bit noisy but it's not something really disturbing.

Re: Any way to avoid "clogged nozzle = failed print"?

Hello - Probably it's the best to clean the gear on the extruder motor - usually this is why it's stopping mid print. Other possible causes: printing Pla with lid closed; printing Abs continuous for days in a row (heat buildup in the extruder motor seems to melt the filament when it is at the extrud...

Re: polysmooth issues

From my experience, the best option for Up Box is using Tiertime materials. I also use some of the Zortrax materials - UltraT range, but I am afraid to put anything else inside it because bad things happened when I did that. :)

Re: stainless steel nozzles

I use one from Micro-Swiss. This nozzle has a brass core and is hard plated with TwinClad XT: https://store.micro-swiss.com/collections/afinia-h479-h480-up-plus-2/products/plated-wear-resistant-nozzle-for-afinia-h479-h480-up-plus-2-zortrax-m200 From the reading it appears that the Zortrax M200 uses...

Re: My UP BOX problems

Tiertime is definitely working hard to get everybody's printers perfect. Thanks to the UP team! :D Yes, true. After these last months I can't believe my old Up Box was printing bad. Prints look very nice now. I tried to add pictures of our latest prints, but it's not working. (Sorry, the board atta...

Re: My UP BOX problems

Yes. I contacted everyone.
I received a new printer. And prints are very good. I had no failures in more than 10 prints.

I added pictures on the previous page of the topic.

Re: My UP BOX problems

@car3less It looks like your x rod is slipping, this is the cog that is mounted on the steel bar on the back right hand side of the printer. If you put a sharpie mark on the shaft and cog you'll probably see the slip. A quick fix is get some two part epoxy and get good coverage on the cog and rod. ...

Re: My UP BOX problems

You are welcome to report any problems with the new BOX. :) Nothing to complain about until now. The new printer has printed at least 10 objects in a row. And worked great. I hope it will continue like that 8-) These are just a few prints: http://www.print3dbucuresti.ro/wp-content/uploads/201...

Re: My UP BOX problems

We have eight 3D printers. 1 SLA, 1 DLP and 6 FDM and there is someone hired who is doing service part for them. And I think he usually knows what he is doing because he was building his own 3d printers for the last 5 years. He also repairs in his workshop printers from 3D Systems, Formlabs, Leapfro...

Re: My UP BOX problems

Tiertime agreed to change it. We received our replacement printer today. The first print looks perfect. :D Now we've started the second test print. Until now, it's amazing. I don't think we have ever had such a print from the previous one. On the other hand, Up Plus 2 has been working since November...

Re: My UP BOX problems

If you send me a photo of a cube and leave it in the printer, I should be able to see what the fault is. It might just be a quick swop of part and you'll be sorted. I also had a customer with one like yours and we sent her a part and now she is happy. The printer had heater assembly problems, white...

Re: My UP BOX problems

Well that is just wrong, I hope TierTime is reading here and offer help ;) That photo looks like the print head might be slipping from the magnets. There is a metal plate glued to the motor, maybe check if that still is the case. Or the gears aren't staying in place on the motors.. Again, sorry to ...

Re: My UP BOX problems

Two days ago we printed for a big metal factory some plastic pieces for an IT exhibition in Barcelona. The small ones were printed on other printers and were ok. I can prove with pictures. And I tried Up Box printer because it was the only one big enough to print one of their pieces. I didn't want t...
