Re: Looking at buying UP300 but support?

The worry over access to software parameters is very worrying. The isssue re wall thickness etc is a long standing issue (I had email conversations with Tiertime 5 yrs ago) and there has been little movement. This is a great shame the hardware is excellent and for a little change in some functionali...

Re: Circuit board blown?

I had thought of changing the motherboard, but would quite like to keep the fire and forget nature of the Up software.

Has anyone managed to get one of the other slicers + config file to make the Plus as easy

Many Thanks

Re: Circuit board blown?

Is it still possible to purchase a replacement CPU board for a Up Plus 1? If yes, what should be the price in the uk?

Many Thanks

Re: How good is the UP300 ?

Thank you for the feedback. The pos/neg nature of the review is a little concerning to a potential purchaser looking at spending 2000+ukp. The real hope would be that at the price the printing of all models, provided they fit the largish bed, should be be very solid/ no (very little) separation etc....

Re: Upgrades and Firmware revisions we'd like for the UP300

I agree re the accuracy of the feed measured by the head, but as reel weights are often known quite accurately the combination of changes in reel+filament weight and length usage, as measure by the feed, should help give even more accurate predictions of end of spool etc. Re I2C I wouldn't suggest u...

Re: Upgrades and Firmware revisions we'd like for the UP300

Weight is useful as it is what most supplier, inc Tiertime, use to predict usage on a model. The final correlation must be quite reasonable as the extruder is driven on length (e.g. nominal voume) rather than exact weight. It should be able to correlate the two with a loadcell and filament takeoff m...

Re: How good is the UP300 ?

Interesting The info re the thread is slightly worrying. We normally now encapsulate a tappex, or more cheaply, a nut to save issues with pullout. However we did some tests a few years ago with abs and abs+ printed on a UP Plus and were getting pull out strengths up to 20-50kgf for M4 with > 5mm eng...

Re: Upgrades and Firmware revisions we'd like for the UP300

Many Thanks for the feedback. It might be a fun project to build a replacement holder with 1) Filament Feed (Retraction?) 2) Spool (filament) weight 3) Measurement of spool movement (to detect filament blocking) - Perhaps more difficult than putting it ont he head, but would keep the accelerated mas...

Re: How good is the UP300 ?

Thank you for the feedback, look forward to reading about the further tests.

The gear looks quite good, I wondered if you might be willing to put the .stl file up so others could try and
generate models from other machines and give a comparison?

Thanks Again

Question re Spool holder

Can I confirm the spool holder doesn't weigh the spool? If not could an owner or Tiertime indicate if the spool holder is demountable so could be replaced by a support with a loadcell included? [Is this something that Tiertime might include in upgrades?] I notice on the UP300 pictures the spools hav...

Re: Upgrades and Firmware revisions we'd like for the UP300

Certainly as a potential repeat/returning purchaser of UP/Tiertime products it would really nice to see feedback from Tiertime , ideally with realistic timescales, and/or get the user community involved in moving things on. I guess there is a feeling that the Mini2/300 should be different from the o...

Re: Upgrades and Firmware revisions we'd like for the UP300

Been reading throught the 'would like for list' and it seems that (3), (4) and (19) could posisbly be solved by one unit that can feed, (retract?), wipe, detect motion . Still thinking of buying a 300, but do owners think there may be space to put a small unit in and possibly link (replace?) the out...

Re: How good is the UP300 ?

Very many thanks for the reply and I look forward to reading your comparison. In the meantime I have been speaking to various suppliers and searching the web for more input. The area I am still having difficulty getting good comparable reviews is on the accuracy and finish that can be achieved by th...

Re: How good is the UP300 ?

Thank you very much for the link. The last posting was in November** and at least one poster referred to pre-order machines etc. Does anyone know if there have been any improvements and should a buyer be concerned re old stock? I have heard comments from suppliers indicating that the UP300 isn't sel...

How good is the UP300 ?

Dear All, I wondered if users of the UP300 could give me a realistic view of it capabilities and comparison to the UP Box and other systems I have been using UP systems for 7+ years and have great success with all including old Plus 1s which have been great workhorses. A number of years ago I wanted...

STrange axis behaviour

After a numbr of years of solid service one of my Plus' has started to do something strange. It had just completed a model and while I was cleaning up the model the unit started to make a knocking sound as though it was trying to extrude and was blocked. I tried initialising the system and it contin...

Re: Filament Nightmares - SKU List

Thank you for the posting, but I have t ried a number of positions of the cooling flap, currently running with it fully open but still problems removing support.

Is any of the orginal ABS still being supplied? If yes what part number should I be looking for?

Best Regards

Re: Filament Nightmares - SKU List

Just entering this filament nightmare! Had been using up a large stock of C01- filament. Has worked brilliantly on the small delicate models I mostly make, support easily removed by hand. [Various Up! plus machines] Recently bought some white ABS [NOT ABS+] Up! filament, 500g reels. When the arrived...

Up Box Processor

Apologies if this a duplicate posting, the previous one seem to go missing We are reviewing 3D printers again, for use with students, last year we had to go with another supplier as the BOX was delayed. Hiwever, I am still a fan of the usability and normal reliability of the small UPs, but we (and o...

Replacement filament

I am running to the end of a largish stock of the original Up filament Does anyone still sell the 700gm C-01, in particular white, anymore? Or is there a different supplier which sells a similar material ? Some people have said the Zortrax filaments are very similar is that still true. Many Thanks
